judging from how they do the oil change at jiffy lube, I'll go out on a limb and say the drain plug is under the truck.

If this is a really a serious thread... the drain plug is under the motor on the oil pan, it will be off center. I think its about a 15 or 17mm socket.

Don't overtighten it when you put it back in, its aluminum!!!

in the oil pan. the filter is on the front of the engine. first drain the oil from the pan, then replace the plug. next unscrew the filter and remove it. turn the filter counterclockwise to unscrew. next make sure the old gasket is still on the old filter, if not remove from filter housing. next take new filter, stick your finger in a new quart of oil and lube the gasket on the new filter. install filter HAND TIGHT. there is no need to over tighten it. next fill with oil. my oil cap says 10-w30 mobil synthetic, however i know a lot of people use 0-w40 mobil one. this should help.

Just to add another step I take. Before starting the above pull your new filter out and fill with new oil. You'll see it 'soak' up pretty quickly then seem to settle as if its full. Set to the side. Next step is follow Stanimal's procedure. When you grab your new filter you'll see all the oil has disappeared. Refill, (amazing how much more you put in there huh?) lube the gasket and to stress it again...tighten to only hand tight. Not gorilla hand tight, just hand tight. Fill remaining oil in engine, check after short run and enjoy.

If you are one of those who do the jiffy lube you can ask them to do a prefill on your oil filter. You won't be the first to ask them.

Maybe you don't "need" to use 0-40W Mobil 1. Read up, very interesting to know what they've done to this oil. And yeah your stuff will be SM rated since they changed in 2004.

The big copper looking plug on the passenger side of the oil pan.
Oh and use a filter to aim it into your oil catch can, it can shoot right out to the passenger tire!!!!!!

Unless you follow the directions above, then you wont need as much. the 10.6 comes from the truck having to fill up the oil filter, if you pre-fill it you wont need as much.
