The "Pirrelli" issue

As many owners have experienced the Pirrelli's on several of our trucks tend to make the truck ride bad, vibration from the rear. I wrote DC about this, keeping in mind I do have the issue, but never had it looked at. This is the letter I got back. Not much of a help other than the letter states the dealer should do what it takes to fix it. Personally, I think that means new tires, not Pirrelli's. I might take my truck to the dealer before I bolt my new tires/rims to the truck, let them document the issue, then ride back with the new rubber and document the lack of the issue. Maybe I can get some $$ back on my new tire purchase.

Personally, DC customer service truly brings the suck....same response on my issue - contact a dealer, it's not our problem....

On the tire note, been lucky with this truck

My truck rides OK but is scary to drive in the rain at any speed above 50. The thing wants to hydroplane like a boat. I'm not talking torrential downpour. Just a moderate rain is enough. Anyone else experiencing this? My wifes been white knuckled more than once while I'm waiting for the front tires to grab so I can steer away from the guard rail.

I had the exact same issue. My dealer went through 12 different Pirelli Tires and could only find ONE that would pass roadforce testing. After that, they decided to just switch me to General tires.....now, all is well. No more shakes.

I'll never own another Pirelli. Generals or Toyo's are my next set.

They all suck... just a matter of degree. I have Toyo's on my Ford and they are cupped to shit in under 15000 miles.

Like I have said before, these tires will hydroplane on week old dry spit. They suck in the rain.

My wife has the same size tires on her Infiniti. They are the Toyo Proxes ST's and no problem with the rain. I will need tires by spring time and will definetly consider the Toyo's at that time.
