mods and engine health

so, i'm looking at getting a 05 qc, one of the trucks i'm looking at has an underdrive pulley, ignition wires and coils, drop in k and n filter, belanger headers, and magnaflow catback. but the car hasn't been tuned since having these mods done. is this damaging to the car?

i come from a subaru background where they are very finicky and any little mod needs a tune to run proper fueling and timing. but i have also owned hondas that you could throw parts at them and beat the piss out of them and they run.

so i'm not sure if a compression test comes back good should i get it or stay away?

thank you for the advice

Yes a tune is needed, but no it's not hurting anything as is. They run very rich stock.

Just like V1 stated, very rich stock tunes. Especially up top. Even though I have an RC and do not have personal experience with the QC's (auto trans factor re; tune), even after my B&B exhaust was installed, K&N drop in filter and the BBK TB, the A/F on the AEM wideband showed 11:1 at WOT at 4-5K RPM.
BEFORE you tune, be sure to have a quality, high volume Catch Can on the engine. This will remove the harmful, oily fumes from the intake. This factor along with keeping the 4 cats happy is some of the major reasons the factory tune is way rich.

Cheers!

Those are basic mods, do you "have" to get a tune? no sir, but the quads take very well to a tune, stock they have a trq limiting tune in the pcm, limiting timing fuel so forth on lower rpms, so with a tuner you will gain immensely in the lower rpms, upper not so much.
oem they come rich, with exhaust it will open up some.
enjoy the new ride, she will become very addictive
