gotta throw in another vote for the V1. Haven't tried the others, but then again I haven't had a reason to since I got the V1. It hasn't let me down yet.
Maybe you could get a screen to go in your visor. Or if you dont want to cut anything or make anything permanent, maybe get a screen that's flat enough and light enough and just use some heavy duty velcro... just an idea. it seems like the perfect place as far as being in your field of vision...
Those are some very good points. Something I've always noticed was the point made about taking your attention away from the mirrors and whats around you while backing up. Especially with me having the screen down in the floorboard. I have to back up twice as slow when using the camera just to...
I was the same way about drilling. Never really liked that idea. That's why I went the the shop to install it. If they mess it up, they pay for it. And I figured they had more experience with installing them. I didnt really want to experiment with my drilling abilities on an SRT 10.
Sorry I...
I havnt really looked into the ones that clip on to the plate frame. I would just wonder about the quality of the picture for those. I've been very happy with this camera. And with all of those LED's surrounding it, it lights up everything in the dark which makes it even better to see.
As for...
Here are a few pics of my backup camera setup.
It's mounted just to the left of the license plate. I'm not too sure about the brand or cost of the camera. I had a local audio/video store install it. The monitor is located underneath the center seat just beside the driver. I got the tv off of...
No problem, man. Thanks for the compliments.
I took a few of these pictures on the way home from a car show one day. There's some nice scenery on the back roads of Georgia.
I've got the 7 piece billet grille set sold by the guy on ebay.
They've worked well so far but were a pain to install. Came with no instructions. Had to figure out my own way to put them on. I dont know what kind of look you're going for but, in my opinion, the grille changes the whole look of...
I gotcha. there's a recent thread about SRT's in the Atlanta area somewhere out there. You might want to check that out.
Welcome to the club. Got any pictures of your truck?
I'm getting a rattling sound too. I don't know if it's the same as yours but it sounds like mine is coming from underneath the floorboard just behind the front seats. I just figured it was the muffler/exhaust rattling. The thing is, it only rattles for a few seconds and then stops for a while...
It's definitely not coming off. Not quite sure what kind of posts they are. A local car audio/video shop had them.
The mount on the rear view mirror is alright for smaller radar detectors I think. But the V1 is just too big for that. Since mine is mounted so close to the ceiling, you cant...
I think its so that you can mount the display where you can easily see the arrows.
For people that mount them up high or on the passenger side like I did, it makes it hard to look over at it every time the detector goes off.
Dont really know of a way to hide it. But mine's mounted out of that way up by the passenger side visor. The hidden display is mounted in the dash along with the display for the cd changer. Sorry for the blurry pics.
