    Well----she gone

Shipping today my 2005 QC. It's been a ride but with it's age (184,000 mI) and my age (75) its time to pass her along to another. A great big thanks for everyone here that has made my owning her a much better experience. All the help and encouragement has meant the difference in owning...

    Back in 2005...

173,000 miles on my '05 QC and still going strong. Trying to sell her as my bride needs something a lot lower, a little more mellow, and smother to ride in so probably a Chrysler 300 is in the future. Seems the market for our beasts is kinda dead after the COVID crap started. Do miss the...

    Burgers for thought

Sadly, what is bad for one is a boon for another. Starting next week, I am having 30 rental RV’s towed to Odessa, TX. The higher oil prices the more stable the work force in in the Permian. Also-----sure helps me pay for the fuel in my beast.

    Hypothetical Question

170 thermostat, proper coolant mixture, underdrive pulley and no air in the system. Sitting in traffic with the outside temp at 100 the heat goes to 205. I turn off the AC and turn on the heater and the temp starts down almost immediately. Temp goes to 195ish and turning off heater and...

Pulled the trigger on a new Toy

Ancient ain't the word my man. After 65 the ball started down hill at mach speed. 38 yrs of 2 packs a day (stopped cold 20 yrs ago) and 30 of heavy drinking (stopped 35 yrs ago) took a very heavy toll. Some of us are just a little slow in the smarts department. I be 72 and sometimes...

Pulled the trigger on a new Toy

Congrats, my 1st and last Jeep was a '48 retired Army jeep. I was most likely driving a jeep before most of you guys were born. On cold hunting trips we would open the hood and warm our hands holding them over the 4 cylinder engine. They have made a few changes.

    Heat Issue

Actually it has never hit the 215-220 mark-----guess I am a little paranoid sometimes. When it hits 205ish I turn off the air or slow down till it is back to the 195 range.

    Heat Issue

Good advice and sometimes I forget to keep it simple. My heat problem, if there really is one, has been going on since the 20,000 mile mark. A flush would not hurt anyway and a little higher water content may be called for. Thanks to all for the help.

    Heat Issue

Man, you are way over my head. I have 168,000 miles with 15X50 so kinda thought it may be working just fine. Also I thought our truck specs called for 15X50. I will go to 0X40 for the next change and see if the cooling is different. No to the coated headers. Do not know the cooling...

    Heat Issue

The A/C will definitely cause your cooling system to work harder. You will have to decide: Your engine running cooler or: YOU running cooler Hahaha, at 72 yr old I don't see me running any cooler. Old men get hot under the collar-way too often. I have been banned from commenting on news...
