Just received my 4.88 set from Devin at Unitrax. I'm tech savvy and have my own lift, press, etc. Worked for years as a mechanic and wrenched on superbikes in the 80's so I'm ready to do this myself as I've done numerous GM swaps in my youth. I putter around the garage now for fun.
Looking for instructions / guidance / torque values / schematics / links etc....
as I know some remove the slingers and make up for it with .050" extra pinion stack.....
Little disturbed that Maui seems to be missing bearings. I haven't opened my box other than to make sure what it was. I'm assuming that the pinion bearings now are reused and just carrier bearings are supplied.
Just want to be fully informed before opening the patient.

Dude open your box and check it out. I took a pic of everything I got and posted it.

No, not all of the bearings are in the kit. I don't remember getting 2 bearings in my kit like Patrick (I might have though). But there will be a new rear pinion bearing because the pinion shaft diameter is larger than the 4.10 pinion. The only issue I had was installing the pinion without using a crush sleeve, I've never done that before. So it took a few tries to get the pinion bearing preload correct with only using the shims. Otherwise it went like most other rear ends for me.
