I have been reading up for my install,,,,,how hard is it without a bushing puller? can I do this install with one side jacked up at a time or does both sides of the truck have to be jacked up? Or would it be worth the money to have a shop do it.

I only have two jack stands and no puller

also after install, what rpm are yall rc guys launching at?

I'm not going to say what you can do, but I will say this, that they had my truck being held-up by the dif/bubble....both leaf/springs on the floor at the same time! ;)
Might save time having a "Good" shop do the work for you.
As far as the bushing/puller, it's more you need a bushing press. You can pry the old ones out because your not going to use them again. But the new ones you want prestine!

i used a torch on mine put new ones in the freezer while i was heating the old ones out. worked fine and didnt take as long as trying to beat them out with a sledge hammer.
 
Well, its easier to do on a lift...In the driveway....not as much fun.

You can do it without a press but will take you awhile. You will need to burn the rubber bushings out of the leaf springs and then beat/rip out the aluminum sleeve.

Then pound the new Caltrac bushing into place but without galling up the hole for the pin ;)

It can be done but would recommend having a shop do it due to the PIA factor.

One side at a time is easier...just support the axle with a jack.... Use the other on the frame of the same side you are working on.

BTW, you will also need a very large wrench to adjust them...believe its 1" 1/8 but will have to double check.

That sounds hidious!!! I am not purchasing till I find I competent shop!

I beat the old ones out with a hammer and punch supporting the leafs on 2X4's. Let the opening in the leafs cool down before installing the new bushings as they are hot after you pound it out. That was a good idea to freeze the new ones......wish I'd have thought of that! I did not think the install was as bad as some have said......I'd rather install those over another set of Mopar headers that's for sure!
 
just like installing wrist pins in pistons we used to put the pistons in hot water and the pins in the freezer so they would slide right in . i left the ends of the springs hot and they were still a tight fit that way when everything cools back down it wont slip or slide used a 2x4 so i wouldnt bur the bushing
