I will soon be buying a Yamaha Super Jet stand up jet ski. Wanted to know what everyone else is using for a hitch on a RC. Does the hitch stick out far from the bumper, do I need to splice into tailights? etc.

I was also thinking that I could just toss the ski in the bed, and not have a need for a trailer. I could get a bed rug, and I'd b all set. Money saved on trailer could go right toward the bed rug. Dunno, kinda up in the air right now.

I haven't heard of or seen anyone with a hitch. The odd thing is, while under my
truck admiring the view I noticed a wiring harness 4 a trailer.
I thought the only thing this truck could haul was "ASS"!!!

:burnout:

no prob on towing a jet-ski (actually i have an aquatrax). i'm using a hidden hitch product, same part# for ram 1500, simple bolt on, only the bumper cover is in the way, for a clean install you have to remove it, other wise just drill through it like i did!... and yes there is a four prong flat harness up under there! p.s there is a small panel you remove on the bumper cover (two screws)

I visited my local Dodge dealer and purchased a factory hitch for the 1500. Simple bolt on though it does take about 2hrs start to finish as body panels are removed for full access/assembly. The side skirts behind the real wheels are mounted with clips. I ran some masking tape at the upper edge before pulling up to release them. Didn't want to chance scratching the paint. The rear bumper cover is already set up for the Dodge hitch. Its about as factory as you can get.

I pull motorcycles with mine. As for a bedrug....one of the best accessories I added to mine.

I've got the Mopar hitch as well and also removed the bumper cover for the clean look.

I towed my GMC Syclone to the track with no problems, so a Jet Ski should be a breeze!:D

Heres another picture of a RC hitch.

Here you go. Make sure you remove the bumper cover facia to install the hitch and then the 2 screws that hold the cover opening in place. This is what mine looks like.
