New tail lights

Thought I'd post a picture of my newest mod, smoked Tail Lights, not quite finished yet, still have to polish them and install them, but they look cool. You will have to look close to see the images in the tail light. Thank you Texas Yellow Fever for the stickers, they did the trick.

Simple process

You need the following:

2000 Grit wet/dry sandpaper
1 can of VHT Nite-Shade
1 Can Dupont Acrylic Clear A-7481S
4 Stickers from Texas Yellow Fever (2 each side)

Sand the light to remove all the gloss
Apply the stickers
If you want to keep the backup lights - Mask them
Apply one coat of the Nite-Shade
Remove the stickers and masking tape
Apply 1 good coat of clear
Wet sand w/2000 grit
Another coat of clear
Wet Sand again
Last coat of clear
Get some good polishing compound and get to work
Install them

Total time about 2 hours of work

Really nice! We have a new law in Illinois that outlaws smoked tail lights as of Jan 1, 2008...otherwise I would be one of your new customers too.

Not sure of the law here,but anything not standard is cause to get pulled over and checked.I am pretty sure the powers that be would take a very dim view of this mod here in the Old Dominion.

I hated living in VA aka 'Common Wealth' because of how hard they were on vehicles. I did not like the front tags, inspection stickers, no radar detectors, only 50% tint on side windows, cops chomping at the bit to pull you over... ughh... Besides that it is a beautiful state!
 
very nice. id make em, but i have the blackout covers on mine. in jersey everything is illegal. when i get stopped i say "shit im sorry officer, i completely forgot to take the covers off when i left the ______" works every time ;)
