In the process of selling my truck and can't decide which one to get. This will replace my truck as the weekend warrior....I plan to do a bunch of mods on either one.....I can get a brand new fully loaded 5.0 for less than a used CTS-V but I think the caddy is more of a sleeper and makes more of a statement....What do you guys think?

I would got with the CTS-V all the way.

Keep the truck. Too many stangs and caddis on the street :D

If I could afford it I would have a CTS-V...:wavey:

Thanks guys, that's what I was leaning toward.....Lingerfelter has a $11K kit that should put it in the 10s and include a 2yr 24K mile warranty.

Get a supersnake :D

I think I would look around as to what is out for both cars, price's on parts etc.

check on both forums and see what issues the cars have with them.

the 5.0 is already in the 9's street able.

Yeah I know I can go faster with the 5.0 for less money than the caddy, but.............that's what i'm struggling with....although this won't be a family vehicle, i could take the fam out in the caddy as opposed to 5.0....plus it will haul azz.....:D

probably less than 11k as well. :dontknow:

Well to be honest, I don't know.

I can ask some of my mustang friends who run them.

All I can say to be fair to both cars without starting a war :D:D:D Is just find out both pros and cons, and go from there.

both badass cars to start with, so it's just boils down to which one you wanna get :)

Personally I'm not sure why anyone would ever consider a Mustang. Other than they are cheap sports cars. There are way too many of them around, why would you want the same car as tons of other people?

Neighbor leased the new cts-v coupe and it's frickin crazy fast, he smoked my truck like I was standing still. Only negative he said is lots of tranny and rear end problems even at stock power, that's why he leased his to start.

I know you are looking at the 5.0 but you could also look into the shelby :dontknow:

I have seen them going at a pretty good price, just a thought for ya. they run about the same times.

my friend has one, and is looking into a pulley CAI & PCM, he already did the muffler delete.

I heard the shelbys are so restricted from the factory that car&driver did a test and a cold air intake gave it like 35-40 hp you could search google I might be wrong. But I believe thats what I read before when they first came out.

I could also argue a point with you about ours trucks.

not the srt10 to be the one but, there are so many dodge rams out on the streets that people really dont even know what they are looking at.

I have had many people ask me, whats in there the hemi.

they think most srt trucks are normal run of the mill dodge rams.

but you are correct there is alot of mustangs on the roads. and to be honest I see more jeep srt's than srt-10 :D makes me feel good.

I agree, thatz the only downside...too many around....that won't be the case for the caddy...

Well you got me there, I never really thought about that.

I still am a mustang and camaro hater though.

:D:D:D:D:D

I can't say I favor the regular mustangs much, but a specialty version like shelbys, roush or the ss or new z-28 camaro's.

I can appreciate them. the caddy does have the sleeper look to it, most people thinking it's a old mans car :D:D:D then get smoked haha, priceless.

Not looking to bang gears anymore, besides you can go faster in the 5.0 for a fraction of the cost of the Shelby....my plan was to clone the Shelby and heavily modify the 5.0 drivetrain
