Hey guys. What a weekend!!

I have not had anytime to post, but I will make up for that on a few of the threads that are going.

I am so pleased with my build, I couldn't be happier. Ron and I just got Chris on the plane back to LA. Chris and I spent the morning data logging my truck and he was able to solve a nagging issue that I have had for the last 2 1/2 years.

I did 575hp/585tq. That is exactly what I wanted and the truck is a missle. Just ask a few of the boys that I took for rides!!:rock:

Thanks to everybody that came to the tuning session. Everyone went above and beyond to help us work the schedule, after we discovered the issue that Canada Customs handed us. We all had fun and made some real good friends. A lot of us had never met in person, so it was great to finally meet. We tuned for 15 hours yesterday. Chris, Ron and myself were so tired last night we didn't even get to have a beer. We learned a lot and I think it is safe to say everyone was beyond satisfied with the detail of workmanship on their tunes.:rock:

Special thanks to: Chris Jensen, rottenronnie, Brian H., Matt (host), Jason F. Mrs. Rottenronnie & Mrs. Oldcolt for all of the behind the scenes support and showing up at just the right times with food and treats.:rock:

Chris will be back!!!!!!!:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

I can now verify burt's truck is a beast!!! the pull is absolutely amazing!!! 3rd gear pulls you back and keeps on pulling harder as the rpm climbs! feels like it would keep pulling even harder right to 7000rpm. (although he shifted at 6000ish) it doesn't quit! until Burt had to lift his foot! awesome build!!! I also went for a ride in Joe's truck and again what a beast that QC is! like driving on glass!! spin spin spin!! lol and then high gear pulls like a freight train!!! I will need a bigger shot of NO2 to keep up!!! The weekend was great and again thanx to all that set it all up! Now that i know Chris Jenkens' abilities , a TWINSCREW is my next mod!!

I took ronnie for a ride the next day Norbert, I didn't lift until 220km/h (well before the lights!). Thanks for coming down!:rock:

Thank you for the updates. We all figured you weren't coming back since you didn't post updates :D

I would really appreciate a more detailed breakdown on your (OldColt) gains similar to when I showed the difference between the BBK and JTSVenom throttle bodies. Hopefully you did a base line dyno before the strikers were installed (I know you already had the cam installed). I would like to see a chart, say from 2500 rpm through say 6000+ comparing the gains throughout the rpm range for the stock heads compared to the strikers. For both torque and horsepower, questions like...did you gain torque on the low end....did peak torque move...... you know , information we could all use.

Also , do you have long tube headers or stock exhaust manifolds, throttle body....etc.?

I'm going to let ronnie take the technical side of the build trainman. I'm not sure if he has broken everything down yet, but I'm sure he will jump in. I can say there is a huge difference in torque. When I took the first drive after Chris finished, I told ronnie it picked up a hundred hp and it really did. There is lots of room left with a different cam. A viper with Strikers finsihed up well into the 600's. I'm no drag racer, but with your skills trainman, you would be the fastest NA by a country mile......and have the slips to show for it!!:)

What is Norbert and what lights? 1/4 mile? distance?

Norbert is Slitherbeast's real name. I didn't get into fourth with him in the truck. The lights refers to the intersection down the block from the dyno. He know's what I mean.:D:D

Damn oldcolt our numbers are almost same:D,got to love them strikers:elefant: I was 574/575,hoping my new roe cam and a tad more compression will push me to the 600 mark,I also sprayed a 100 shot but spun all through 1 and 2 gears:rock:

I really happy with the results. There is plenty of room to go over 600NA, but that was not my goal. I could dig a 100 shot!!:D:D

I wanted to thank srt10ss and Mrs. srt10ss for staying late to get their tune. Their SC RC is soooo nice!! I think it did the highest HP at the tuning session, for those keeping track. It was way rich, but Chris got it sorted out. Hope you had a safe drive home.:):)

Thanks for all the kind words guys! And thanks to all those that had the faith and patience to wait for their chance on the rollers. I know some of you drove considerable distances to come down (some even twice) ! The long distance award goes to: Canviper (from...where was it??... Kandahar? )

Burt (Oldcolt) spent a few months planning this, and it was a huge success. I truly appreciate his hard work and determination...

I know most guys reading the posts after this weekend are interested in peak power numbers which is fine, but there is far more to a thorough tune than many people can appreciate. This weekend was a tuning session and not a dyno shootout, although every vehicle enjoyed power gains after Chris Jensen's tuning.

Joe (Yellow Venom) did a 295 foot burnout UPHILL in his truck, and the marks are still just as black as they were 2 days ago! I'll have to do my homework to catch him now ! Darn those Paxtons !! The underhood and inside of Joe's truck looks like an aircraft. Great Job Joe!

Tyler's Procharger build overpowered the performance clutch he was using and gave the Mustang dyno the biggest workout over the 48 hours. The custom work he did on the underhood of his rig (hiding wiring and such) was outstanding. Tyler's rig will be an absolute animal when it's done. As for racing him with my truck? Aughhh.... I'll just watch from the stands... :D

There was a Gen II Viper (2002) on the rollers that had Strikers and a RANK cam. It has never ran properly at low speeds, would stall out at the lights and be generally bitchy to drive. Thanks to Mr. Jensen's abilities...it now runs better than it ever and can be driven at low vehicle speeds without complaining. It demonstrated an amazing 175 horsepower jump between 3100 and 3900 r.p.m. during the last pull. You would want to be paying close attention to that when blasting through the twisties !! I know the owner was happy..

The proprietary software and hardware combinations Chris was using on these vehicles was something to behold. His patience and expertise throughout (2)-14 hour days of BACK-TO-BACK vehicle tuning could be considered the stuff legends are made of. His introduction to Tim Hortons coffee, double chocolate doughnuts, Tim Horton's chili and Mrs. rottenronnies energy protein shakes, kept him upright in the driver's seats of the many vehicles he was in and out of. Mrs. Oldcolt made some Timmies runs, supplied the Gatorade, pop and ice-cold water to keep everybody alive. And I'm sure things behind the scenes that I am not even aware of.

Jason F. and Matt combined resources and offered us a facility for Mr. Jensen to do the tuning and were both awesome in their overall support to the group.

Hi Jerry.

My truck picked up 143 wheel with Strikers and a cam. Burt's (Oldcolt) truck was less than TWO horsepower different. And it looks like Ironhead's build was similar as well.
Strikers and a proper cam choice can provide a large increase in torque numbers throughout the entire r.p.m. range.

There is plenty of room left in Oldcolt's or my pump-gas builds. I am looking at another 90 HP wheel (possibly adding headers this time) without a great deal of effort.

EVERY mass produced engine responds a bit differently. I've seen gains (and losses) that are all over the place when trying to determine what works and what doesn't. So...try it and see. Like I've said many times, cylinder heads are where the power is made.

Luckily, there are plenty of options out there, whether you choose some ported o.e.m. heads, Gen IVs, Strikers, ported Strikers, Striker-R heads, or whatever you like, I'm sure your numbers will improve at the track and keep you smiling once you make your choice.

Thanks ronnie............but we all know you were busting your butt this weekend.:D:D

We have taken a lot away from this experience and brought our fellow viper truck enthusiasts closer together. That's what is so great!:rock:
