They all ready had to drop it from 1/4 mile to 1000'. Engines are hitting 10,000hp. The drivers experience over 4g's. something has to give soon. At some point a max will have to be hit. Either what the human body can endure or maximum acceleration of current designs. Any thoughts?

G-suits, crank up up to 9.9 g's

We're good!

Are all the tracks down to 1000' now? I know the older ones with short shut down lanes have been reduced due to the Kalitta death in Englishtown back in 2008. I was there that day when his car exploded almost right in front of us. The chutes burned and his car hit the camera crane at the end of the track which is what killed him. Had there been a better shut down trap he would have made it.

All top fuel is 1000' now, and as long as someone has balls big enough to drive them top fuel cars will keep getting faster

Correct x2 ..and funny cars also run to the 1000' mark, only prostock, and prostock motorcycle still race to 1/4 mile in the pro ranks...

Yup...technology will advance..........

Technology does advance, but NHRA restricts it pretty bad.

G-suits would help, but can they handle only 9gs? From what I have read, 8gs are pulled by half track.
