Went to Panama Beach dragway

I know Florida is an awesome place for a yearly G2G, but what about the track at Bowling Green? It's 1/4 mile, there is a camp site, a full water park, and a full amusement park, and being that it's in Kentucky, it's a bit more central to everyone. It's not too far from where I live in Clarksville, TN and from Clarksville I can get to ATL in like 7 hours, Birmingham in 3-4, Columbus, OH in like 7, St. Louis in about 3, etc.

Kentucky :dontknow:count me out ,16hr drive ,,guess i can plan on the motorcycle ride with my son instead

Hey, just throwing something out there. You can't honestly say PCB is more convenient.

For 6 of us that come up year after year from south Florida it is.

honestly... there's a "core group", should i say, that come every year...

panama city has some of the nicest beaches on the gulf coast, along with enough tourist attractions to keep an ADD kindergartener entertained...squirrel...

while i love kentucky (hell, it's my home state) and the track there's pretty good, it's not just about the race track... track day is one of the days out of a week of relaxation... and last i checked, they ain't no beaches in bowling green:D

For you, yes, but for the entire VTCOA?

life is about me in my world lol ,you live near it so it does not surprise me that you would pick KY ,,
I would pick a track in Texas or Shreveport La ,thats more in the center of the US than KY

And nothing is more fun than crashing a go-cart Into Dan
In the end this is Tony's gtg not vtcoa gtg so it will really come down to him and none of us .

I'd be down for any of those places, TX especially.

dude, you gotta travel around Florida more lol. People who live in Florida (except people near PCB) look down on PCB.

while i love on all my cousins in kentucky (hell, it's my home state) and the track there's pretty good, it's not just about the race track, it's about me being able to see Ironhead in a speedo... I look forward to that all year.... track day is one of the days out of a week of relaxation... and last i checked, they ain't no beaches in bowling green:D

Listen to what Dan is trying to tell you, NSDQ. Unless you are willing to be part of the week long experience, the "PCB" GTG might not be for you :D

Nah I know what he's saying. From the short time I've been on this site I know there's a lot of history with PCB. Just saying that if it were to move, perhaps a central location for people of all areas of the US could get to a little easier would be worth looking into.

i've been to dozens of beaches in florida, atlantic and gulf coast... and for what this group does, it's more than adequate... plenty of room, plenty of attractions, good accommodations, etc...

what are we gonna do for a week in the middle of farm country?

Jack, the prep there is as bad or worse than Panama. The track is built in a pond bottom in a farmers pasture and you have no choice but to drive through the water box. I quit going there and it's closer to me than Panama.

Eddie had said it was a real POS!!!:D:D

we hjave tried the central usa deal so more would attend, in the end , nobody would show , or it was a battle over dates,
last year we decided, from now on second week in may, that way folks could plan earlier.
looking into tracks an locations now, but as said, pcb has become a family, that I dont think will ever change
