Best/easiest procedure for flushing/bleeding clutch?

I know 2 people are needed but just want to be sure it's done right, do I need a lift or can it be done on the ground:dontknow:? I've read that it makes a huge difference on our trucks... Thanks for any info as usual:rock:
 
you can use a power bleeder and push the air back through if only one person is available. It can be done on the ground, the bleeder screw is on the left hand / driver side top of the trans.
 
I learned early on that the manual clutch fluid gets ugly pretty quick. I now simply sux out the fluid in the resvr and replace it with new every oil change. Takes all of 2 min. 125K miles later I've had to do no clutch work and fluid always looks good.
 
Here's how I do it and it works! Use a turkey baster to remove old fluid from res. add new fluid. Pump clutch slowly a few times the use a 2x4 or something that can hold clutch to floor while you go under and bleed. Place item between seat bottom front and depressed clutch pedal. Bleed a Lil bit, remove object while holding pedal depressed by hand and slowly let clutch go back up. Repeat this process a few times and always keep fluid full in reservoir

I just had the wife pump it while I bled it. and kept fluid topped off. also, I had a huge chunk of white Goo blow out on the first try.......yes I'm still talkin about the clutch

That's likely from moisture and fluid mixing. The fluid is hydroscopic, attracting moisture. It'll often be a dark brown/black as well. This is clutch dust that bypasses the seals in slave and contaminate fluid as well. New fluid/bleed equals a happy clutch/driver :rock:
 
If you have time, gravity works great too. Crack the bleed screw and check back periodically, once the reservoir is empty or close to then add fluid. Keep doing this until it has clear fluid coming out.

Worked well for me years ago when I put in the Viper hydraulics, now with Tonys system there is a long ass bleed hose so a guy can do it by himself.
