Non-Vendor rules:
No soliciting. (This means "we can do one if you're interested")
No links to performance websites which show your or other's work. (For instance, in your signature, or otherwise.)
No posting of prices for work performed.
Posting photos to show off your work is acceptable. You may not offer to "make one up for you..."

Out of respect for our vendors who support this site, please follow the rules outlined above. Any post that violates, or is deemed by the staff as soliciting with non-vendor status will be removed without warning at our discretion. You will not receive a warning if it happens a second time, and will further not be allowed access to this site.

What does this mean, most if not all group buys with business's that are not vendors will be moderated heavily. We value our Vendors and it is our duty to help protect their investment to the VTCoA. A business should not be able to sale products using a work around like a group buy. I know there are members that have sought out these fix's, updates and improvements to our SRT-10's. We appreciate there efforts. We're not saying you can't buy from business that are not vendors or talk about business that are not vendors. The line is crossed when we use the forum to create business for non vendors. So out of respect for ALL our vendors whether they can provide that service or not we need to draw the line in our Vendors favor, especially when we are talking about parts and performance upgrades.

And....

And by all means, feel free to invite them to be a vendor, they may be able to contribute and help many more members.

What a crock of bullshit, a problem was brought up and none of the vendors stepped up to make anything....

I feel just as crapy now as I did when I had to tell someone they couldn't publically sell a very nice set of oil cooler lines

Glad I got my set before the HAMMER dropped :D. These are the rules. Sometimes they suck, but to be honest, the ones who pay to be vendors do deserve the right to be the only sellers even if they don't make everything everyone wants...................I guess.

I guess if I was a vendor, I would have quickly bought all 10 of them and sold them on here for a small small mark up to maximize my "being a paid vendor". I may have even given Beasti one for free for doing the leg work and helped me secure more business...

I agree, if the guy came on here pushing them I would totally understand. But he wasn't, a member found a solution and was just trying to share....

i did the same thing when i first got on here.:(

thought i was doin a good thang.:dontknow:

found out REAL quick i was not:y::D

Again, there is no rule from anyone using or buying from another source, the line is crossed when the forum is used to create business (Group Buy) for a non vendor. There is nothing wrong with saying ABC Company sells X. We do that all the time with Cleveland Pick a Part and X2Builders. Now if I was to say, hey lets do a group buy and Cleveland Pick A Part will sell body clading at a 20% dicount if we can get 20 buyers.... Thats out of line because we are using the forum to create business for a non vendor. So if someone wants to say hey, you can get a bump steer kit from ABC Company or person (and they are not a member) and leave it at that, no harm no foul, just don't do the group buy.

I appreciate what Beastly1 was doing. But what you said about drawing a lone on parts, liability, vendor participation, etc, made sense.

I agree with VENDORS being preferential. I think there is nothing wrong with a NON VENDOR offering a group buy discount to people that want a product that forum vendors do not provide. Seems more like said vendor does not wish to pa fry a fee to be a vendor here, fine, have no problem with that. That said I think they are missing out on a larger potential market. There is nothing to stop a nonvendor to offer word of mouth dicounts to people to purchase said product as I am sure they prolly make or market other items we would be intersted in. I would encourage them to join up

All kinds of problems here

There is nothing to stop a nonvendor to offer word of mouth dicounts to people to purchase said product
Very bad

could lead to a ban if done

I do

OK, this I agree with
I would encourage them to join up
and become a vendor

Upon further information I have to agree with J, if one wishes to market an item using this forum as a sales tool, they should become a supporting vendor. There is an untapped market for many different items many people make that we would have interest in. Just my opinion....

I am glad i'm not a mod anymore. Damn if you do, Damn if you don't.
I respect J's decision. Some of them are hard to make.

Do who's gonna make the thread saying ABC company sells X? :D

DECISIONS, DECISIONS.! I wholheartedly agree, if a vendor wishes to use this forum as a sales tool, join up & support it. I thank J for pointing out another side of an issue that I had not considered. Basically, I think we should support our vendors FIRST, encourage those with a quality product to join up & enjoy more sales potential..

What about a group buy forum, only accessable by supporting members?

The solution is simple,

folks need the kits, they should work fine,

all you have to do is have scott, venomous , contact the source, he will be able to buy x amount so forth at a certain mark up.

then he can distribute them out to everyone.

actually what would be absolutely best is if he got the first set, actually tried them out for a month or so, its steering guys, they need to be tested, no matter how good the manufacuturer is, think on that.

it takes a bit to pay to be a vendor, so some dealers that would have a very small amount to offer its not worth it to them to become a vendor, so if you run across something such as this, contact a vendor, they can contact the dealer, see if something can be worked out.
