Just joined the VOA, not just the forum but the club as a member. Going to a get together in Hudson, NH this Sunday and I will be strapping the car to the rollers! Car is stock outside of a cat-back that was on the car when I bought it... any guesses? Will update after Sunday. We've got 17 members signed up for the event and there's atleast 9 of us going on the DYNO for a baseline pull. :burnout::burnout:
I'm hoping for a little higher than that but who knows.... Remember there's a significant amount less of rotating mass than the trucks, smaller wheels, smaller driveshaft, even the half-shafts compared to the truck axle is significantly lighter rotating mass. Also what is weird is that the Vipers came with 10 more HP than the Rams??? Has this been proven? My original owners manual says the car comes from the factory with 510HP/535TQ. Was there something different in the factory tune from the car to the truck?
Can grind is identical. I agree with PCM mapping though as well the less rotating mass. Still didn't say whether Mustang or Dynojet though?
I will guess 451 Bob on the Dynojet Rotating mass has nothing to do with manufacturer HP #'s because they are based off the flywheel, not the rear wheels.
LMAO! No I realize that... I wasn't implying that to the manufacturers claims, I was implying the rotating mass part of that to Scott. I felt like his guess was low but he was close. My guess was actually almost spot on... I actually put down 442HP/460TQ on a DYNOJET. There was a Gen2 that Was putting down high 600's and a sweet SRT Challenger 6.4 with a Kennel Bell on it and he put down 667HP. It was an awesome day. 18 Vipers showed up (all Gen's, even one Gen5) and a bunch of other sick cars!!!!
Unfortunately the Gen5 that was there didn't get on the Dyno. Only one Gen4 got on the Dyno, it put down 530HP/502TQ.
Ya you were close. To be honest these Vipers have a tendency to have the e-brake hang up, so I never use it. But when they called me up I pulled my car up to the bay and pulled the e-brake so the shop owner could get in and get it on the rollers... I think that's why the first pull was a little lower.
I do have to say I am very impressed on the consistency of the three pulls. The HP and TQ curves were very smooth.
