Radiator question

I have a 2005 QC with the JTSVP electric fan kit with a 170 degree thermostat and I keeps over heating when I cruise around town. As soon I get 45+ mph the temp drops, so not enough air flow from the fans at low speed. I’m getting an aluminum radiator and will do a flush and refill and see if that helps.
The question I have is, are the SRT10 radiators the same as the dodge diesels of the same year? Also if anyone wants to buy the JTSVP fan kit make an offer, I got a JMB one and the quality and shroud are way better.

Have you checked the thermostat.. may need changing ?
Is the coolant level correct and air bled from the system ?
Are the fans turning on ?
Do you have an underdrive pulley on it ?
I would check those things before spending dollars on a new radiator.

The new fans came with a 170 thermostat so that has been installed.
Coolant level is correct and I have a full stream coming out of bleeder.
The fans are turning on but don’t seem to be sucking through the radiator hard enough. Shroud has a 1/2” gap all the way around, can’t be good for flow. For almost $1000 I though it would be a better seal. No underdrive pulley, stock except k&n CAI and cat back system.

You don’t have a tune I’m taking it and your sure it’s a 170 thermostat?
The fans run points are controlled by the CMP and change the thermostat without a tune which includes the fan points adjustment will cause your fans to come on at the improper times .. maybe go back to a stock thermostat and see if that fixes it .

Correct no tune, however the fan kit came with a controller that I can set the "turn on temp" as well as a probe you jam between the fins of the radiator to get a temp reading.
