    Hi all,

I have a leaking power steering pump and I have heard the OEM ones are not very good and are way too expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations on what pump to go with and where to buy it?

The TOP hose (swivel) is typically where the "pumps" leak and when they do, it makes quite a mess.

    • Did the seal in behind the pulley sprung a leak?
    • Is there a hole/crack in the cannister (body)?

I found the price of a new pump in line and don't think they are more expensive than others. (?)
They are also a decent pump as far as I'm concerned.

Yours can very likely be repaired if it has problems like the (2) bullet-points above.

Thanks for the reply and advice. I did replace the 2 main power steering lines with the JTSVP steel braided lines and I am still having a leak. I haven't taken the pump off yet so I cant tell exactly where the leak is coming from. I am going to take it off tomorrow.

Mine was leaking like a stuck pig. But it was from the high pressure line. I just replaced it with steel braided. No more leaks.

Funny you mention the cap. The yellow insert on mine somehow popped off last year, and was making a mess in the engine bay. It took me two weeks to find a replacement cap, the standard auto parts store doesn't sell them. I found a place in Fl online that sold them. I've posted about the store on one of the threads on here, just don't remember which one.
