Unfortunately I am losing all hope for what once was the Golden State!

Right now I'm in the Bee Hive State visiting all my people who had sense enough to leave decades ago!!

I haven't seen but a couple of masks the whole time! And the cemetery doesn't look any worse off because of it. Just sayin :D

Cali is definitely a different type place than the rest of the world ‍ at least La and Sf areas I visited .. always fun to cruise around Beverly Hills at 4am or take a wrong turn in the middle of the night in gang infested La... Didn’t think much of Hollywood strip , didn’t look like much . The worst part going to La from a Vegas was 120 miles out your eyes would burn and water worse than cutting onions .
SF a cool place cruising those step ass hills , talk about putting a strain on an engine .
Then there’s the infamous Death Valley damn it’s hot in July in a care with no AC drove from Scotties Castle to the other end where ever that was ,, did see a sight at said Lost Lake . Was really surprised people would actually camp out their , saw some guy walking in the middle of know where at least he had a gallon of water , but the coolest thing was the huge snow field of the snow that doesn’t melt ,, must have something to do with being in the lowest point of the US . 282 ft below sea level , Bad water .. there are also over 300 fresh water spring in Death Valley ..
I’m not sure where a Ali is headed in the future but hearing many people are getting the hell out of there , recalling a Democrat Gov. and having a Transexual Olympian man running as a Republican just reinforces my thoughts of NEVER GO BACK !

we took a weekend road trip with the ex and 5 year old son from Vegas .. just drove to see what we could see . Entered Utah and damn , I think the sky was falling as the starts looked so big and close you could almost reach up and grab one . Never seen that before . Ended up in St. George and stopped for food at McDonalds . Can remember how lit up it appears from the Temple there . This was during the winter months .. But it was like warm spring from Vegas to St. George.. we kept on driving and thought we would try to see the Grand Canyon . Saw a sign that said North rim and head in that direction .. well that didn’t work out .. it was closed due to snow . So figured we need to keep going as we sort of mapped out a huge loop that would take us back to Vegas .. As the night got later all of a sudden there where the huge white things falling from the sky , so big and thick it felt like I was driving in a time tunnel or some kind of vortex . Hypnotic..
It wasn’t stopping , the road and ground were turning white pretty fast . Nothing around at all a 2 lane hi-way for miles and I noticed the gas was running low .. no choice , kept driving and finally there was a gas station in the middle of Indian reservation nowhere .. and 2 mobile homes across the street .. it was just after midnight . Well the gas station was closed , so I parked at the pumps until 7am when the sign said they open. Did I say there was also no heater in my car luckily I had a Comforter we kept warm with .. imhad less than a half tank of gas left .. well, got the gas the next morning and head out down the road that had 6 inches of slush all over it .. we finally pushed past flagstaff AZ heading back towards Vegas , still cold and freezing . Bit hen all of a sudden as we got closer to NV .. it turned to spring time again Smooth sailing from there on in .. and made it back in time to work

AWESOME! Sounds like you may have been going thru the Shivwitz Indian Reservation -

Glad you made it and didn't die out there if you were on Utah hill - Old Highway two lane highway before the I-15 went through.

But you could have been somewhere else, this is just what your description brought to my mind

The books are out of print. I pulled them from the wiki. I might some year re add them. It came down to sales, yea, expensive, but that happens when the market is as small as ours. I really never thought they would catch on, so I kinda got in my own way.
