Its been a few years since mine blew off and exploded against my windshield... several other have had problems wiyh theirs and had to rig or modify the ouls one to reatach it to to hood due to the stupid prices they were selling for every where .. 300$ for a piece of plastic that over time would break again ..screw that !

well i decided to search them again and holly crap first site was Amazon ... 33$ yes 33$ un huh 33$ even a few price a few dollars cheaper .. next week that huge ass hole in my hood will be fixed .
It appears someone started making them and selling them for a decent non gauging price ..

Some of you were looking for one , there you go ! 03A8863F-1C2C-43AB-873C-D41F249FC94C.png

Spare parts ROCK, but I like STOCK even if it costs more :D

Came today .. completely satisfied and more ,, that 300$ price tag everyone has been asking is no more for the factory ones .
Im waiting for the paint to dry and the massive T storm to go away , so wont get installed today ..
The one i got was 33$ from amazon , there are several different companies selling them on there at different prices .. it comes with all clips attached and the 4 retaining nuts ..already primed .
The one i got has the grill part molded in .. others dont.

i had an old can of gloss black spray paint i used for 2 quick coats turned out pretty good .. the entire truck needs painting anyway thanks to the crappy job Dodge does ,, shit original paint cracks to the the bare metal .

ill see how the fit is after installed .. but looks a hell of a lot better than my crappy rig .

300$ compared to 33$ .. for a piece plastic that most likely will break again .. No me ! I would have preferred aluminum or metal . That damn , plastic hit the windshield so hard im surprised it didnt shatter it, sounded like a shot gun going off.
I thought i hit a turkey buzzard till i got home and saw the hole in the hood .. went back to find the part ,, only a few pieces no idea where it all went .. i was doing around 60 mph

I will be buying another spare with the removable grill insert .

Well all right then in this case we can make an exception! Buy10 of them for the price of an OEM POS right?!

I'll admit, I have two mods on mine. GEN-X shifter and Magnaflows, BUT I still have the originals just in case :D

I keep all my original parts also .. throttlebody, factory transmissision valvebody 48re , rear leaf spring shackles , air cleaner / filter set up , even original headlight bulbs , removed badges and wheel center caps .. heck i might even still have the original worn out windshield wiper blades. But yeah i can be anal like that lol. Example ; i still have every paycheck stub from every job i ever worked , dont ask me why , the answer is already stated in this comment .
If the factory scoop insert was a price from reality , for what it is .. i would have bought one .. but 300$ for cheap plastic forget it ..
cheapest I found was Stinkers at 295$ .. sent a message to him about making a metal type but didnt get a reply a few tears ago . So i used my rubber pad and 2 sided tape to keep the rain water out . Heck , it held up as long as the original insert

Ok , now that im drench in Florida not a cloud in the sky rain and literally dripping a puddle on my dinning room floor . Keep asking myself , how much can the human body rain before the rain stops ... ok , enough of that ! I just need another post , closing in on 5000 .
The scoop insert is installed , the fit is excellent , took about 20 minutes total . I had 1 front clip that didnt line up , pushed it over a dink . The left front clip then appear to not set down and lock into place with a left jab or 2 , after installing the underside nuts i gave it the right upper cut punch , fixed . well i proceeded under the hood to the i need a second person install of the 4 retaining nuts ( similar to the originals ) . Used a socket and extension to push them into place , problem with thar is the scoop pushes up and my arms and legs arent long enough to reach the top side of the scoop to push down while installing the nuts . No matter , i kept pushing on them , alternating between the 4 and it appears im good to go . ( will double check when i find a someone to push down from the top .. So its great for now , no wiggle , fits great no complaints . Except its plastic still , spare coming soon .

I'm going to trash it all with my 23 years of business papers as soon as the 3 Year IRS required to hold time is up. Made up my mind , not more pack rat.

I hear ya about the paint. Mine is sun bleached on the upper portion of the front fenders, and my roof looks like a zebra...

Looks good. Are you in the process of sanding the paint down on the hood?
