Ok well i got around to working on the truck today:rock: Anyway Made Some Progress...got the Electrical All labled and un Pluged,bolted, and what not. also got the tranny unbolted.. i think i might bolt it back up and pull it out as all 1 unit.. not sure yet.. cause i guess i can replace the clutch with it still in the truck... all the radiatiors and coolers are pulled... i poked a hole in my radiatior pulling it out.... i get angry when stuff doesn't go right.. and like a jack ass i didnt check out the bottom of the radiatior and theres a bracket that holds the lines for the tranny cooler:dontknow: ... o well i wanted to put in a Becool anyway..... as it sits now the engine hoist is hooked up and waiting on me.. to unbolt the motor mounts tomorrow..and yank her out and tear it down:elefant: :elefant: :elefant: :rock: also had AresstMeRed stop by.to check everything out....also any central texas guys that wanta stop by, lend a hand, have a drink or 2, or just to hang out is more than welcome just shoot me a PM i'm in hillsboro about 40 min from dallas and ftworth ..on with the pictures

Very Minor damage to everything really.... i'm pretty sure the cyl wall is fine but will have it checked anyway

..... so my list of things to do


1. Send off heads for port and polish and intake port match
2. Figuer Out what Rods i'm going to run probally going with eagles
3. Order Dimond Pistons
4. Send off block To machine shop
5. Find out what cam i want to run..can't find any good info
6.New Centerforce clutch

clean it up replace the mains.... make sure everythings fine.. replace all the seals front and rear... my truck has close to 50,000 miles on it some i'm useing this as an over haul/ engine build
 
sweet ill send him a pm an see what he thinks..i tried to call the guys at underground an EED couldnt get ahold of everybody.....also called the guys at eagle...and looks like im going to..get Eagle Rods...tthey are not the best but...they are way better than stock..i dont know what im going to do about the crank...should i go ahead and key the crank while iv got it torn apart?

If you are going to do a blower, definatly double key (blower key) the crank, and get an ATI dampner & hub......Good idea even NA.

I had mine keyed, and got the ATI dampner. Very good insurance.

well heres my goal..since i'm not really doing major stuff lol.. just new rods pistons heads and cam.. i'm doing all the work tring to do this on a budget right now..... set goal is 5 grand 500rwhp Plus....with a very reliable set up and cvan be driven anywhere in the world and work like a charm... with al the intel i'v gathered and am gathering.. I can do it my self by taking my time.. labling everything..and makeing a "few phone calls" lol so we will see but....so say i'm out of my mind in tring to tackle this by myself but... when people say i can't do it makes me want to even more..... plus with me and my uncles brains together we can pretty much put it back together "cross's fingers" lol
 
first of all let me start off by saying thank you dan "final GTS" for all the help.. and talking to my stubborn butt...anyway on to the progress for today! ....... GOT THE ENGINE PULLED WoooooHoooooo... ok yeah thats all i got done cause it totaly kicked my butt.. but anyway heres what i got! Motor Pulled, Tranny Droped.....get it all out of the truck and wham! get hit in the face cause the bolts i have arent long enuff to put in on the engine stand yet! :( o well it's atleast out of the truck... as soon as i get it on the stand it's time to tear it down... the clutch looked pretty good compaired to how i'v been driving it...anyway on to the pictures!

thats really all i'v got.... now i'v got another question... now that the cyl.. is ok should i send the block off the the machine shop....or should i just replace all the seals and gaskets throw some new pictons and rods, port and polish the heads do the cam and drop it back in the truck?
 
if it was me id go ahead and bulletproof the bottom end while i had it out. unless you really enjoy pulling the motor:D thats just me. when mine does come out its getting the full treatment, but it will need it im sure.
 
That Will be pretty Much what it will have done Forged Rods With Dimond Forged Pistons...... if you can make a roe SC work to 600+ Hp on Stock bottom end... i think i should be able to handle 800 with rods and pistons......it'll never see 800 or heck even 600 but still.... i should be good and be able to run around 550 Safely i think

i see you doing billet mains while you got it tore down too. most reccomend them they are expensive but i would think they would be well worth the money since you got it on the stand. i am probably gonna start buying parts for my motor when i get through with my challenger.
 
see thats what i was planing to do this summer.. buy a few parts here and a few there.. and then this had to happen lol.. and it screwd my hole game up lol...anyway i'm going to start ordering parts i guess today and try to get everything i can think of knocked out of the way..... so my list to buy is...

Comp Coupe Cam
Timeing Chain
Dimond Pistons
Eagle Rods
Centerforce clutch
and get my heads fixed.....

SO yeah thats the game plan...and i hope to god that i can figuer out how to putn it back together lol
 
Don't forget ARP studs for the heads and ARP bolts for the mains.

I am going through this right now also.
 
everyone i talk to says that pur crank can handle all the power i can throw at it... i'm just hoping for 500 + on motor so i should for the crank lol...and the SCT tuner is a must!
