    Not interested?? - 2024

Wasn't the DIY area supposed to open to the general public? I cannot access any of those threads since I'm not a supporting member. If I try to become a supporting member it blocks me from doing so lol.

Yes 2k clear lasts years if properly applied. I still ceramic coat over them as well since I coat almost everything on my vehicles. Here's an article explaining 2k clear coat: https://erapaints.com/1k-vs-2k-clear-coat/#:~:text=Using a 2K clear coat, are prone to surface damage.

I usually use 600 and as soon as you spray clearcoat it makes the lens crystal clear, I'll usually do 2-3 coats. Use 2000 to remove any orange peel then a polish to clean the lens up. Its more or less like painting and if needed paint correction. I've tired multiple $20 headlight restorers but...

I restore headlights as a side gig. You have to sand them quite a bit and use a 2K clearcoat, they'll come out looking brand new and last years.

    Floor jacks

I have the long reach, low profile version because all my cars are lowered and it actually lifts higher than any of the other models. https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-long-reach-low-profile-professional-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-blue-56641.html

Harbor Freight Daytona series are very, very, good floor jacks. Different models depending what you're looking for.

Maximizer Long Tube Headers and Midpipes for SRT10

Have you measured the primaries and collectors? Its advertised at 1.8" primaries and 3" collector. What about the missing welds around the exterior of the primaries, do they seem sealed? I've never seen 3/4 welds like that, usually primaries are welded all around the exterior. Have you put a...

Towing @6000lbs in RC, bad idea?

Appreciate the info! However the truck I was going to buy sold, so I won't have to worry about this right now. I'll bookmark this info for future use!

    Tire

Top speed runs were done with RCs and did 154 MPH stock. The truck had to make multiple runs and took the average speed.

Towing @6000lbs in RC, bad idea?

I haven't messaged Viperhauler since Wifely tagged him in this thread. Stock clutch will hold fine, it isn't the weak link. 05 and 06 came with lower diff gears so towing is easier than 04s, don't try pulling in 6th, and like you said take it slow and easy.

Towing @6000lbs in RC, bad idea?

Thanks, I've already dug through VTCOA, SRT10Forums, and multiple Facebook groups. Viperhauler didn't mention if he used a weight distribution hitch or not while pulling 6000lbs. If these U-Haul trailers would allow a weight distribution hitch then I'd be ok. I've checked Budget and their...

Towing @6000lbs in RC, bad idea?

Hey everyone, I might *finally* be picking up an 06 RC and could really use it to tow 6000-6200lbs (car+trailer), 800 miles, going through the southern Appalachian Mountains (central Georgia and Alabama) as I'm moving soon. I see lots of people towing this much, or more, with RCs but they...

    Tire

I've read really good things about General Grabber UHP. The only downside is if you do top speed runs as the tire is rated to 149MPH.
