It's going now, I finished putting it together just a couple of hours ago. Running smooth.
As far as cost..
Tony is, beyond a doubt, the best vendor I have ever worked with. I bought a lot of stuff from him while I had the truck. He overnighted an intake valve, two valve springs, two...
I was referring to the fact that the engine had been "repaired" in the past. The pictures don't lie.
Kyle- I don't have a problem with you at all. I genuinely think that you saw a good deal on the truck, from someone who abused it, and bought it. I think part of you also acknowledged that it...
Just another idea that could explain the low miles put on it by previous owner, the hurry he was in to move it, the uncharacteristic lack of power (vs a friends truck). Maybe even the broken valve spring... Whether it was him rebuilding it and selling for a quick profit, or he bought a turd and...
Piston is pristine...
Work had been completed some time ago apparently. This isn't why I pulled it apart, this is just some evidence of earlier problems.

Seemed I was under barrage after I started the thread, just had a sour taste in my mouth from the judgement.
I know that there are guys here that may be apprehensive about what is generally considered to be "expert" work. In true gearhead fashion I simply want to encourage...

People like this everywhere..
Ever hear of offering an encouraging word? So much f$&@)/ng negativity around here from some people. I'd like to know.. What's your experience with this? How many times have you torn this engine down and down anything to it? How much money have you paid other...
The three on the collector, or the studs in the head?
The three on the bottom MUST be soaked with a good penetrating oil for a couple of hours before you twist the tabs off of the back of the nuts. Then you can put a 17 mm open wrench on the square nuts to hold them while you loosen the bolts...
