When I had first spotted a Ram SRT-10 for sale, I was curious how much I'd be paying for insurance. So I called up my insurance company and asked for a price quote....

(now I needed sleep from staying up all night the day before from being so excited about potentially owning a viper truck ..and I'm not sure if I was awake enough for her words to register.)

The insurance agent gets back to me and says, "You want the good news or the bad news?"

"Bad news" I said... she quotes me $330 monthly! ..*long pause during call*.. "So... what's the good news?" I asked. She said, "If I was you I wouldn't even get a vehicle like that at that age. You don't want to be paying an annual average of $4200 in premiums for a truck do you? That is high for that particular truck for your age group! Maybe you should look into getting a different model and year of Dodge truck if you prefer Dodge."

(now I took what she said to heart, but being as she is a woman and doesn't produce testosterone, she just wouldn't understand it!)

In my reply, "..how was that good news??" She responded, "because it wasn't encouraging.."

So to spite this woman... haha, jk.

Have to say, I don't mind paying what I am to drive it. I will always enjoy this truck and take care of it more as it was what I wanted. Nothing compares to it, it's in a league of its own IMHO. But out of my favored top list of vehicles to own, I've always wanted it to be a Viper. But the truck serves best of both worlds until I'm 25, as I was quoted $692 monthly for an '05 Viper SRT/10 Convert! And that is just not happening! Well, it didn't.. as you can see :D

    :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

I had USAA insurance and they treated it as a regular 2005 Ram 1500. What insurance company did you call??

That's not bad at all.I had mine with a small local company that also covers my house and it was only $435/yr,full coverage.

I think all 04's are considered 1500 RAMs because the SRT-10 truck was an option package for that year. After that they were considered actual different models from other 1500's.

I would NEVER volunteer the SRT info.Just RAM 1500 and VIN number.

My old lady is my agent. (Amarican Family)

Must be an 04 thing cuz my 05 and 06 both came up as SRT-10's.

Just under $358 for six months and that is with both other vehicles and my home.

    I am 30 years old.

BTW you coverage has everything to do with your price. There are different levels of full coverage ins.

Mine is so cheap becouse i only have 25,000/50,000. With $1000.00 deductible. The higher the coverage the higher your premium.

This has been brought up before.
My 06 is listed as a Ram with Nationwide. I am friends with the lady and after the quote asked her about the SRT10 thing and explained it to her. She said it is just a Ram. Went back and forth with her to make sure if something happened I would be covered. She assured me I would be. I can not quote my coverage terms because I don't know them right now, but I am paying 173 a month to cover the truck and my VW sandrail.

Also where you live, car stored inside/outside, security devices, your credit score. So many other things also determine the price.

My insurance is cheaper on my srt than when I bought my 05 hemi s/b new. According to my insurance company my truck is a 2006 ram 1500. It's also $100 a month when I have it insured between may-oct ($600) full coverage.

When I bought my 05 new I was 21 just traded in my SS/T that was $150 a month to insure the 05 then was $308 a month for the first 4 months then dropped to $250 then after a year to $190.

I have noticed that Canadian insurance policies are different than the US.

I switched to Geico after State Farm tried to take me for a ride.... Now they want my business back! I had heard a rumor that the owner of "Progressive" was just that....a progressive, far left radical. :dontknow:

It's all about shopping around. There is no one company that will be the cheapest for everyone.

I'm currently with State Farm. I didn't mention SRT, just told them dodge Ram and give them the VIN. When they ran the VIN it came back as an SRT and it's costing me more in insurance the truck than it was for the 911 that I traded in :dontknow:

I pay 750.00 a year for full coverage with a 250.00 deductable and mine comes up as a Dodge Ram SRT-10 . Then in October when I park it they send me a check back for almost 400.00 in refund then it's 220.00 to park it for the rest of the year. So I think im paying cheap insurance on my truck.

Like the others said, my insurence company lists the truck as a Ram 1500. I'm paying $235 a month. Huge drop then what i was paying for my other vehicals $5000 a year for my Cobalt SS/SC and $5500 a year for my 370z.

The VIN tells the insurance co what the vehicle is. Evidently the '04s come up as a Ram 1500 because the SRT was considered an option package that yr.

That's what I do, also helps when you have a muliple vehicle discount like I do. I'm happy with my company no problems just a phone call to change coverage.
