So the other day when I took the handle off of my tailgate, I noticed there was a power lock actuator in there. It just isn't hooked up to power. Where can I splice this into to make it actuate with the rest of the power locks? I am sure there is a junction box (brain) for the power locks, just not sure where? Would be nice to be able to lock my tailgate and tonneau cover before I take my trip to Illinois. Thanks!

is there a brand name on it anywhere???

maybe go to their site & get a wirin diagrahm???

I know how I can wire to make it work off of a switch, but was wonder if anybody knew where the factory power door lock brain was located in the vehicle.

It's been so long since I did this I'd be no help. But I did find this.

Couldn't you just jump it off of the rear door to make it work. Maybe even a relay if it needs more power but I would assume you could steal power at the pillar where the door hinges.

Does it attach to the handle or tailgate itself I would like something like this.

It is a mechanism that is inside the tailgate. It is like an actuator that prevents the handle from being lifted when it is locked. Which would also prevent someone from opening the tonneau cover.

Thanks for the reference Wes! Didn't even do a search on that one, didn't figure anything would come up. Now I know....haha.

Another option that works nice is a handle by Bully. It locks with a key. Will also keep people from getting in the back of the truck. I lock stuff in the back of mine all the time.

Yeah, I am glad I took my tailgate handle off, never new the lock was already in there. But for some reason, it is wired. :dontknow: Gonna wire it up tomorrow and see how she works.
