How many quarts? I want to fill from the shifter location......

What is everyone running?
 
Why fill from the shifter?? There are drain and fill ports on the case.. Takes just under 4 quarts make sure you add a bottle of friction modifier.

I plan on changing the trany fluid in my Grey truck using Mobil 1 ATF, what brand of fricton modifier do you suggest?
 
4 qrts of synthetic ATF. I don't believe you add any additives with the ATF. I didn't. And get a fluid pump... Way easier then through the shifter. I picked one up for 20 bucks
 
Royal Purple here. i got a little gem that screws right on to he top of the bottle and has a 12'' straw atached with a little check valve on it. cost $2.99 at O'Rieleys. best little bugger in te world.
 
oh, and you came to the right place to ask how many quarts. DONT ask the guys at Autozone how many....ask me how i know:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I used the factory fluid, a tad short of 4 qts and 2 bottles of the Mopar friction modifier. If you plan to use ATF, don't add the modifier.
 
This seems like a stupid question to me but I'm sure there is a legitimate answer for why would you use ATF in a 6spd??

its actually what the manufacturer of trans recommends (TREMEC)
