CORRECTION: This is a VEC II not a III...I posted in error and can't change the title of the thread.

I bought this from a forum member as a VEC I. I sent it to ROE who did the VEC II update and sent me all the parts needed for the installation. I never ended up installing it cause I bought a SCT (also for sale different thread.) It has a couple different performance tunes and a paxton supercharger tune as well as 4 blank programmable cards. Comes with instructions. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Vipr Pwr...guess I shold have included that in the original post! BTW I checked records and this did get the VEC III update. I got it a a VEC II and sent it in to Roe in 2007 so I got the latest update they had at that date.

This is also a great custom tuning mechanism for forced induction systems (supercharger or turbo) as it allows very customizable tuning. Yes they are not cheap to buy new!!

Yes, but it's not as simple as plugging in at the obd2.
Quick version: Disconnect connectors going to the injectors and coils...plug the Vec in.
Tap into a wire at another harness location (different Vecs are slightly different)
Wire for power, wire to ground.

BTW,
I think you probably have a VecII that may have been updated.
What I see in the picture is a silver case instead of black and probably most telling is the serial connector pig tail. I think all the VecIII's had the mini USB built in the front. Normally the serial pigtails are added to a VecII. Some call a VecII a VecIII after they are updated etc.
All that said, they are basically the same and after the updates and pigtail they do the same thing.
The early early VecII I had before my AEM, I never even had updates done to it.

Sounds right.
I will only use it for a spare Viper box. That is a good deal....I'm really surprised some truck owners aren't jumping on it !!

I would "assume" yes.
The question is answered best if someone knows if the main connectors for the injectors and coils are the same for all year trucks. On my Viper those are located at the rear of the drivers rocker cover.
