need to figure out how to get this clip off... can't seem to find it... it's the one the yellow wire is connected to...

need to get this airbag off....

Here's the FSM on the subject. I haven't actually done one since the 98 models.

So looks like I remove the two pigtails from the airbag assembly, NOT the single plug at the steering wheel base...

Yes. That black connector is part of the spiral cable. that stays there. Unplug it from the airbag.

Yeah, you unhook the plugs on the airbag itself, not the wheel.

Or just find the little orange sensor up by they front bumper and tap it with a hammer.... shuts the system right down.

You'd have more than a broken nose if you were within striking distance and it went off! They have show training vids were fire fighters have had their arms broken and severe head injuries from these going off while trying to extricate injured people out of cars.
