So a buddy of mine is an experienced welder and decided to venture out and start his own business. So I am trying to help him create welding logo. He is wanting a comic strip style logo of either a welder pulling his hair out in anger or a mad hatter style welding logo. He is thinking of going with "Madman Custom Metalworks" for his shop name. It needs to be a logo that would be easy to use on vinyl or business cards. So keep that in mind. Any designs that you guys can come up with would be greatly appreciated!

It would be great if I could see some drawings here. I have seen a lot of his work and he is truly talented. Plus he is a good friend and a hell of a good guy. As I said before....any help is greatly appreciated.

When I had my company, we paid someone to design our logo. We told them what we wanted, they came back with a few ideas. We limited it down to 2 and made some suggestions. They then set us the 2 updated ones. We chose the one we liked. Took a couple days.
From what I remember, we only paid a couple hundred bucks. :dontknow:
I can find out what company that was if you are interested.

Thanks Wes.....but I was hoping to avoid that route. He, unfortunately, has been hit by the poor economy....much like many Americans. He is not as fortunate as I, to have a guaranteed income. (well mostly guaranteed). So I figured if any of our more artistic members would be willing to help out.

Well I can't draw to save my life :D

Not sure how much help I'll be but if I think of something cool I'll post it.

Couple hundred bucks is pretty cheap for branding... I've seen numbers for logo designs anywhere from $700-$10,000. Designers are signing over exclusive rights to their artwork, and most want a lot of money to do that. So, if you got what you wanted, you got a great deal!

Is he going to form a LLC or anything? Most of the companies that do the LLC stuff include the logo in their package.

For right now...I don't think so. Just small stuff out of his garage. Trailer repair, small trinkets...things of that nature until he can get a dedicated building.

If he goes and has some business cards made up, they'll put something together lol. Picture of our first batch of cards is in my sig. We didn't even give them anything to go off of. Not our permanent logo or anything, but it works for now:dontknow:
