One Less 10

Wow! You are a kind hearted man. My apologies would have, "Your Honor", at the end of it. :(

I just got off phone with insurance and it may take another several days for their final determination on the 10. If I get the salvage, I will keep this thread and all the PMs I have been getting for parts and let folks know asap.

Thanks for the thoughts from everyone. This has been a tough ordeal to get through.

Sorry to hear this.
Congrats for your calmness. I would be doing jail for murder and parting out bodies in the first degree.....:chain:

Wow, sorry for your loss. I really would not want the truck back if it was fixable as it won't be the same.

Good luck.

That is terrible news about the truck. If you part out I would like to be put on the list for headers and the bbk tb

Hi all, I am still working through the aftermath of the wreck of my 10. It has been an ordeal. The employee, a department manager, at the dealer was working on my 10, however I was paying him to do the work on the side. The dealer let him use the tools, shop, space, etc to do the work afterhours. My 10 was stored there in the mechanics bay. This employee and a coworker, both on-duty during regular friday hours for the dealership at the time, used my 10 to do their lunch run, which is when they rolled the truck and totalled it.

They had me talk with a the salesperson, who was riding in the 10 a the time of the accident, to be spokesperson for the dealership and make a good deal on the 2012 Jeep SRT 8 they have sitting in their showroom to help make up for the loss. They said it was the only one in Mississippi or the region. I do like the new JGC WK2, but would rather they had the new ZF 8speed tranny and supercharged version out now (hopefully for 2014 though). I proposed what I thought was a fair deal to make up for gap left after my insurance pays their part of my 10, and kept getting delays in responses. However, today he says they are disavowing any responsibility, saying that I hired the employee as an individual to work on my 10, so they do are not willing to deal. They won't even match the usual USAA price that is available to active military members. So much for wanting to make things right.

I plan to talk to the owner of the dealership personally, as I do not think they are being professional about the situation, but if todays response is any indication, I am not sure what he will say different. Has anyone had any luck dealing with regional managers, especially the one for this part of the country. I am stationed at Keesler Air Forcer Base, however this is not a Biloxi dealer, but is a Dodge dealer in a community several miles away. The next rung beyond regional, Chrysler Corporation, but not sure how that would work out. Legal options are of course, being researched right now, but I was hoping to avoid that if possible.

Any other ideas? I am interested to try and make a win-win as I was interested in the SRT8 Jeep, but am concerned with how I am being treated as a present customer, let alone a customer of future SRT products. I have to say, I have been treated far, far better by BMW and Volvo dealerships while stationed in Germany, who even souped up my cars and continued to support all warranty work. I was hoping that buying American vehicles would make me feel a bit more proud of what I was supposedly supporting while serving in Iraq. Not so sure right now.

I would tell them that your going to have to have them
Charged with theft over $5000 being they didn't have permission to drive your truck and take it out without clearing it with you!! Then they can worry about how they are going to pay for it!!!

Sorry to hear that man, probably going to end up going after the guy that wrecked the truck. The dealership isn't really at fault since you did not go thru them for the work. If you had gona thru the dealership I'm sure their insurance would've already taken care of it.

^^^^^ I agree. Why is the dealership on the hook, you should go after the guy that wrecked your truck. You could get them black listed so military members in the area couldn't go to them, but again I don't see how they caused this. I feel for you bro but go after the person that is at fault.

Get a flatbead trailer, put the truck on it and park out front of the dealership "on the public street" with a sign that says, lets talk about customer service and their service department. If asked to leave by the police, comply without arguement. Take pictures of the truck and use social media, it's amazing the coverage you will get in the local area. Don't be mean, let your truck sway opinion. I guarantee you, their lawyers have already decided you loose, if you can get sales to drop, your voice has been heard. There bean counters have done there part, you need more beans on your side of the ledger. Just maybe, they will offer a cash settlement, let them do it
