I finally got my brake line in that broke on the dyno but am still having idle problems....I recently switched to tonys tb and I had a slight hanging between shifts ...I replaced the iac and now the truck doesn't idle at all without me giving it gas... I just replaced the tps and put back the old iac and it still does the same thing...I played with the idle screw but it doesn't stay on...what else can i check? I had the bbk tb before with zero issues.....thanks

You could try this, originally posted by ironhead;

How To reset idle with an aftermarket Throttle Body:

For all 2004-2006 SRT-10 Ram trucks with a Roe Racing supercharger kit. This procedure must be followed if the battery is ever disconnected or drained to the point of the truck not starting.

1. Disconnect all three PCM connectors for about 10 minutes. By doing this, you are erasing the PCM adaptive memory. The PCM is located on the firewall directly above and behind the passenger side front wheel.

2. Disconnect the TPS (throttle position sensor) on the driver’s side of the throttle body. Ensure all wire connections are correct.

3. Disconnect the IAC (idle air control motor) on the air plenum located on the passenger side directly behind the air filter. Ensure all wire connections are correct.

4. With the PCM disconnected, make sure the throttle cable and throttle linkage is adjusted properly for wide-open throttle. The driver’s floor mat should be removed as it can inhibit accelerator pedal travel.

5. After wide-open throttle is verified or adjusted, reconnect the PCM, TPS and IAC connectors after 10 minutes has elapsed from the start of this procedure.

6. Turn the key to the "on" position, but DO NOT start the engine.

7. With the drivers floor mat out of the truck, slowly press the accelerator to full throttle, then repeat. By doing this, you are showing the TPS (throttle position sensor) full throttle. Without this information in the PCM, it will not correctly calculate how to make the engine run properly.

8. Turn the key off then start the truck without touching the accelerator.

9. Let the engine idle for approximately 2-3 minutes.

10. After idling, drive easy, then progressively harder over the course of about 10-20 minutes.

11. The truck will drive differently during the first 20-40 miles because the PCM is learning the new adaptives.

That's what I'd do E^^^^^^.
you do need to reset the PCM after TPS swap and IAC swap so the PCM can relearn min TPS voltage and iac steps from open to closed. Simply swapping sensors on most parts need a relearn process. O2's dont, IAT doesn't,map doesn't, but others do.

mine acted just like ya'll are describin on Sat., first start of the day

start & die a couple of times. worked her like a carb. engine & she stayed runnin & had no probs the rest of the day & no codes.

been a month or better since i had the IAC out:dontknow::dontknow:

I would make sure the blade is perfectly centered before torque'ing down the screws. Light, finger tights, open and close it a few times. Hold it up to a light and make sure the gap is even throughout. May have to fold a peice of paper the width of the flat spot on the blade to hold it center while you tighten it down.

There is a small left/right play that will cause the side of the blade to grab a little. I took the time to be absolutely sure it was square, and it turned out perfect. No hang.

My truck it doing the exact same thing SRT2SLOW after my JTSVP TB install - what did you do to fix your truck?

On a better note your old BBK is working FLAWLESSLY on my truck :chain: JUST SAYIN lol sorry man. Hopefully resetting the PCM will help your issue

SRT2SLOW, did you get your truck running right again?

yeah....its running great again....but it doesn't idle high when i first start it in the morning when it cold...it stays on 600-700rpm all the time now.....I had to adjust the idle screw on the tb more than i had it....

I had issues with the idle on with my BBK for almost 2 years. I tried everything, even ironheads fix that I posted up earlier in this thread. Chris Jensen had the fix. He data logged my truck and was able to fix the idle issue with a down load. Note: I had replaced all of the usual parts at least twice trying to fix the issue.

So the issue was just programming?

I've seen the Chris Jensen name around, but I'm sure he doesn't live in Alaska! Do you know if it is something one of my BMW techs might be able to do? or maybe a Dodge tech?

Thanks!

Chris uses his own proprietary hardware and software. He does travel. Maybe drop him an email: [email protected] he may be able to help you out remotely.:)

I finally fixed a hanging idle issue with the BBK!! I loosened the mounting screws . I believe that tightening the screws warps the frame and caused the blades to stick. The o-ring seal might be alittle to fat and warps the frame if you over tighten it. Working good now!!
