Since i bought the truck first gear have been grinding when I put it in the only way it wont grind is if I do it really slow .What can be the problem?

From idle into first from a stop? Downshifting into first? What are we talking here?:dontknow:

It's from doing donuts ;)

Throwout bearing. Make sure you bleed the clutch slave and top off the fluid jug! That will work for a short time. You will need to update the slave.might as well change the clutch same time.

almost any time i try putting 1st kinda fast

1st and Reverse just aren't made to put into gear fast by any means. IT should be pretty rare that you downshift into first and putting the selector in first from a stop shouldn't be fast either. I think you damaged the syncro from doing so.

well my brother had a 2006 srt10 exactly like mine till he totalled it and his didnt grind gear and my buddy had one exactly the same too lol and his first didnt grind either. I bought the truck used and since i first drove it out of the previous owners garage it was grinding first gear . It wont grind if i put it in slow and kind of hard but i just just try to put it in without doing it gently it will grind.

I'm having the exact same problem, but I have JTS slave cylinder and a spec stage 3 clutch. After the slave cylinder was installed, I didnt have anymore problems with first gear grinding, but after 1000 miles or so it started to grind again. I guess it's time for a rebuild?

there isn't any clutch brake! if the trans is still spinning when you try to put it in gear the syncro had to slow the trans gears to allow the gear engagment. If it takes effort to push it into gear then the syncros could be worn and time for rebuilding.try to put it into 2nd first then quickly into first see if that helps.

no it only does it in putting it to first gear

yes i realize that but putting it into 2nd first will slow the countershaft which will enable a smooth first gear engagement from a stop .:D If it still grinds going into first i would say the syncro is ****ed!! Just be sure the clutch is disengaging enough to not drag on the flywheel.
