Toyota was making a commercial on that day. Seems it was close to Hollywood so Los Angeles Pimped out the Shuttle. :D

The shuttle is actually sitting on a self-propelled specialized carrier, typically used to move bridge components, oil rigs and heavy equipment. There is only 1 guy with a joystick:joyman: and team of spotters walking next to it and guiding it down the streets.

:rock::rock::rock:

Randy's donut:D:rock::rock: ever ate there????

would have been sweet if the tow truck was a Viper Truck:rock::rock::rock:

i just watched iron man 2, is that the same donut that iorn man was sitting on eating a box of donuts from?

The Tundra was assisting in the pull. There was a write up Jalopnik about how it worked and it only pulled it across the 405. Although the shuttle weighs 165k the main point was to overcome the rolling resistance, which the Tundra was able to do in "low".

Although the Tundra is built by a Japanese company, the plant is in the US (the only Tundra plant) and sources more US components than any other truck sold in the US.

That is correct but, when it came to the bride the combined weight of the Shuttle and the SPMT was too heavy so they had to switch trailers, cross the bridge, then switch back to SPMT.

So The Tundra did pull it over the bridge.

More info on the SPMT..........

Makes you wonder why Obama got rid of the space program. We're gonna be in deep **** if he gets re-elected.

We are in deep dookie ... because the repubs put us there before Obama was elected and the last thing we need is a wealthy elitist for prez. I'm sure some of you will not like what I said but it's the truth.:rock:

I'm not gonna get started. But I disagree 100 percent

While the handling our finances from the previous administration were far from thrifty I cannot fathom how Obama keeps using that as his excuse. He's had four years to work on things and WE lost billions on the auto bailout, keep giving money to companies that fail and Congress has yet to set a budget. But, I guess if Bush was a better economist all of those other things would be taken care of.

Yea, Romney is an old rich, white guy. He built a company and ran it with massive success.

Obama is a slightly less older, rich black guy. Obama went to school, wrote two books about himself, grab a seat in Gov't and never left.

I'd like to give the guy with some actual business and leadership skills a shot. (Not that I think he's the best candidate. I'm much more in interested in having a viable third party candidate that would be a true change)

/sorry for the further derail.
