I have a 2005 Ram SRT-10.

I have read many post on the forum, but I can find one that tells me what is the physical difference between a diesel 48RE and a SRT-10 48RE model. What parts are different? If I purchased a scrap yard 48RE that came from a diesel, is it the same? Can the pieces that need to be swapped, be swapped?

It seems like you can find diesel 48RE at a lot of places, but if it doesn't work, then I need to get mine repaired. (or find someone on the forum that has one for sale)

The only thing I've seen is someone said something about the SRT-10 48RE about having 2 clips, and the diesel only has one clip? Dang it, I can't find that post now that I need it....

I believe the valve body, torque converter shaft are the main difference along with the bell housing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the diesel 48RE have 5 speeds with the 5th being OD?

OK, :D

Their numbering system codes out like this:
first position is number of forward gears.
second is relative torque capacity
third is trans type R-Rear wheel drive
fourth is control - E electronic, H hydraulic
