Was at the track tonight when I noticed my truck was stopping without me braking. It's so bad I can't turn the tire when it's jacked up lol. It's the front passenger. Where can I buy one or can they be repaired.

You try backing up? Sometimes it'll unstick. I believe dodge has the parts for rebuild only. Not sure of autozones?

I just checked Whole Sale Mopar and they have an overhaul kit for around $15.79 and a piston for $17ish. Might check one our vendors first but I would try and reuild vs buying a new one for $400+. Can always check ebay for a used one as well.

you sure it isnt the wheel bearing? just wanna make sure cause ive had that happen to me on my old dodge 3500

I'm sure. I loosened the cap on the master cylinder compressed the pistons back in ant the rotor turned freely

Are your pads shot? Usually when they are at their end it can cause piston to lodge cockeyed in bore and lockup :(

I had the same thing happen, Stink has rebuild kits or you can buy a rebuilt caliper already assembled it was $200 I think for the caliper.

Yes we can get them at the dealer.

My passenger side front did the exact same thing after I cleaned and clear coated them a few weeks ago.

They had obviously never been cleaned before. I let it sit overnight and the next morning took it apart removed the pads and used SEVERAL cans of brake clean with a tooth brush cleaning it.

Put it all back together and haven't had a problem since. I believe I had washed a bunch of dirt/grime around the pistons or something:dontknow:

I had a caliper seize and it was the right front. Now with new calipers the right front barely works. Need to try and replace brake lines.

Nice to know for future references. Sorry bout ur run tho ray. How much was the rebuild kit

Wildman

I replaced the left front on my 04 with a rebuilt from AutoZone. $49.95 exchange. It has been working fine now for about 6 months.
