Street Tire Challenge

So how is this fair to you? Elevation, 100* weather, track conditions? This is a ridiculous challenge. There way too
Many variables!! Oops, forgot, dyno queens love variables! Lmfao
Same track, same day, multiple forum witnesses, etc makes more sense! We all know SRTKen-doll ran 11.5s on street tires so .....?

Since he said this is a way to get guys who can't afford DR in on the action the odds of them being able to afford to drive across the country is doubtful.

Can't afford cheap DRs but have a $25k truck with 500+ HP and high rate insurance? Does that make sense?? Lmao:rock:

My insurance is cheap also. I'd love the idea of a GTG but I'm in Ohio and only have 1wk of vacation left :( if it ever stops raining here I'll go to the track!!

This is the challenge for you racers to race us street guys on street tires, without your DR's and post your best MPH & ET.:burnout::burnout::burnout:

Post time slips for the classes for RC's & Quads.

Pure Stock
Stock With Add On's
Bottle On and Off with time slip
SuperCharged

Open for changes.

What about built motors, stock internals, turbos? Lotsa classes here, lol. We should meet in Mexico, run 30-40 rolls and take tires outta the equation. All driver and mods there bro ;/)

Oh and I'm a track guy and street guy so I got both covered:chain:

a 25k truck is expensive for you??

id say 25k is a good entry level price to get into the car market, so i can see people not affording drag slicks and drag packs,, its a cheep car and if you lease/finance it your lookign at 500 a month,, thats not an expensive truck.. so lots of young people or people who are just getting there payments done can easily get into a truck like this.. Insurance is cheep if you have a good record and you can get decent mileage if you drive it easy 6 speed... so not sure why everyone would be expected to have tons of cash laying around to fix up these " cheep trucks"

30 to 40 mph roll on's..... Beware of us old guys.:D:D:D

Just turned 69 in June......Us older guy's like picking on you younger guy's.:D

Are you up to the Street Tire Challenge?

Of course, but likely wont put my truck back on the track for a couple months. Too damn hot here!

Altitude is gonna screw us colorado guys

Nah, my dragstrip up here is 6,000 feet. There's a formula for racing at altitude that adjusts, the pros use it. I was posting how bummed I was at my time and then when one of the racers did the formula for me, I was right with the other QC's and a teeny bit better than most of the plain jane's like mine.
I'm digging for it but can't remember the member who gave it to me and figured my time.....one of the racers but it was a couple of years ago. Searching this forum is not easy as with most, but I'll find it.

How old are ya? What's considered old? Should we add an old timers class
Almost 40 here so I am in the young- un class, lmfao.:chain:

A mere child......of course there should be an old timer's class....our reaction times are much slower.:dontknow:

My last one was 00.001, so it's harder for us to compete.

Corrected times aren't really a fair match up either. This would be been done long ago if there was an even playing field. The only way is a huge GTG at one track :)

Its not like its a competition for a 100k purse, its just a fun game the op is proposing, I think it would be fun to have a lil challenge like this on the forum, gets each owner in a better idea of what he is competing against.... just get a auto correction formula or a page that does it for ya and just put the conversion below your time slip.. someone may be a little faster because of conditions or track or whatnot, but it would be fun and give ya a good idea of where your truck stands among others that are similar.

Well guy's this was something I always wanted to do. I went to the 1/8 track for my very first time and they had a make up day, but they let make two passes. For free.:)

The first pass I came off the line alittle to hard and spun plus hit the rev limiter in second & thrid. Just too excited 10.6 at 76 mph.

The second pass was .05 light 9.4 at 81 mph and still spun to much. There's alot more mph there, but I need to go back and practice for the Street Tire Challenge.:burnout:

Don't forget the Street Tire Challenge. Make your pass before you put on your DR's racers.:D
