Why is he a back yard hack if he did things the same way they are done on an engine that is expected to last a million miles. Not sure why you are so Hung up on the machine work? For years you had to have the parts machines to make them fit because no off the shelf parts were available, how ever that's no longer the case.

If your not a certified professional mechanic.... your a hack. Its all about a piece of paper on your wall.

Not really sure why this thread got so negative. Dude was simply putting up some positive work he did. Maybe he didn't have the time or resources to pull the motor? I give him props for putting in work that some people haven't. Some real internet warriors on this forum lately. Hard to learn anything about the trucks we all HAVE and ENJOY when 99% of the posts are all fucking stupid

Did you just make a comment complaining about other comments that offer no technical content, yet offer no technical content? Interesting. :D

On another note, I like your headlights.

Congrats to the OP on his in frame build.
I'm waiting for mopar or no cars out of frame build to be full of more awesomeness than Caveman in a batman costume riding a jackass dressed up as a unicorn.

wtf does this have to do with you?...home boy cant stick up for himself/herself...

Sorry I didn't realize he was YOUR bitch...ill stay away from him!!!

Rambling bullshit?? The only rambling bullshit was homeboy posting how great his shadetree mech work was, after he seen the problems a few are having around here...built engine??? Really...soooo let me get this straight, you pull the pistons out-slap in some forged ones without any machine work and this is called a built engine...bullshit yeah I think I know where all the bullshit ramblings are...

Re read, no mention of machine work..

I re-read.

Its obvious any fool can do as you did....Yes but a professional would have taken the time to remove the engine, and do it right..

Nowhere in this, or any other thread have I referred to myself as a professional.

Also, what do to, "do it right" mean? The engine starts every time, idles at 740-750 rpm, runs up to 6200 rpm, rips the tires loose up to about 40 mph, can cruise easily in every gear at varying rpms, it doesn't leak or burn oil, and actually gets about 11 mpg in town and 16.5 mpg@70 mph. With all of that said what is wrong?

I guess there is just a difference between doing something and doing something right...The machine work is only a small portion of what im talking about...For me, and i will say again FOR ME , when it comes to an engine especially a high dollar engine; im going to do EVERYTHING in my power to do it right...For no more money and basically just a lil more time his (build) could have been done right...At the least all tolerances checked and new crank bearings installed witch was not done (In frame). Again for me that piece of mind is priceless..

My problem is not what the op did to his truck, i could give 2 shits....My problem is his comparison between him slapping in some slugs to a engine builder doing a complete (build)....and i quote "the post was meant to be positive and encouraging as a few members now seem to be leary of paying for a built engine"....so basically fuck stick is compairing himself slapplin in some slugs vs a build...get a fucking clue guys!!!
I tried to explain I DONT GIVE 2 SHITS ABOUT WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR TRUCK...Dont think im gunna sit here and listen to some fuckstick compaie his fucking half assed (build) to a real build done right tho!

So, if I send a bare block to any well known, reputable vendor or viper engine builder with the intention of them doing machining and the subsequent assembly of aftermarket forged parts, then they call to let me know that there is no reason for any machining to make the parts in hand fit, it wouldn't be a built engine?

Please enlighten me oh great and wonderful professional tractor mechanic!
