So I took my truck to the car wash to get detailed as I went shopping to Sam's club. As I walk back to the car wash I see my truck is missing my Daytona spoiler. I asked one of the workers "Hey, where is my spoiler?" he laughs and point to the bed. he said it's in the bed. I almost had a heart attack. Of course it took a while to find the manager and he tells me the owner is not there and to call back on Thursday. I asked for their insurance info and they couldn't provide any but said they would take care of it. What should I do?

Not leave till it's taken care of. They can say anything when you come back.

Well it was New Years eve and everything was closed. I'll find out tomorrow I guess

At least take photos and statements from the employees. But I have seen signs posted at car washes "not responsible for broken antenna's, flared fenders, etc".

Yep, good luck. They probably have signs posted everywhere. They should have warned you about the spoiler before it went thru the machine.
Any damage to the bed?

I'm sure they have signs, every car wash has them, but you figure even a dam Toyota corolla comes stock with a spoiler. Especially if it was stock. I have pictures on my phone, the manager also took pictures with his phone and the cashier also saw the damage. Hope this doesn't turn out to be a small claims court battle.

I don't understand how the manager couldn't do anything. What is the point of having a manager then :dontknow:
Car washes damage stuff (or people claim they do) all the time. They should know how to handle it.

Hope it works out

Thanks, at least there was no damage to the bed just ripped the spoiler off

That's why the only person/thing that washes any of my vehicles is me!! hopefully you can things straightened out

Same here, I've seen to many "It's not our fault" deep gouges and dents from automated washes. Not to mention the amount of spider and fine scratches you get from going through those things.

Any update I'm interested in how this turns out. If he's reasonable it would be great but I hope he's not a the signs posted your SOL butthole.

well I went in today and spoke to the owner. He said no one had told him, luckily the guy I spoke to was working today. He told the owner they were so busy he forgot to mention it to him. I told the owner to have him show him his phone and he reluctantly did. He saw the damage and I brought in the spoiler with me to show him. The owner was pretty cool and said he was going to go to the dealership himself and order the wing. He sent me to their body shop which looks pretty legit. They are Mercedes and BMW approved and they were already waiting for me. The rep said the carwash had already called them and just to bring in the truck as soon as the wing comes in and he will send the bill to the car wash. I'm crossing my fingers that this goes through with out pain. The owner and the paint shop were pretty cool its just the workers and the manager that were shady

sweet:rock::rock::rock:

thats a pretty good step up to the bar. i would bet the Daytona wings are not cheap

thanks guys, yea the Daytona wing is $722 from the dealer and that's not including the paint job with stripes

Man that's great to here. Nice seeing an owner standing behind good service.

Glad to hear it's working out for you.

Yea I found mine for $150, I took it to a shop and they painted it when I had the stripes done on the truck. But a new one forget it.
