Hey guys. For starters, I used the search function, and I didn't find anything on this specific subject. So here goes. I have a 2005 qc, and I'm looking for an sct tuner. I'd like to know where the best place to purchase one would be, and where do I get the tune done? Or do they come with it? Do they send it out specific to my truck or do I just give them the list of mods I have and they send out the best tune for my truck? Or do I data log and send the tuner my data log and they send me a tune based on my logs?

I know it was a lot easier with my grand cherokee SRT8, and that's how I did it with that. I know each guy that does tunes for those were all really great at what they do, and each guy has a different skill set. Basically all it boiled down to was who you preferred to work with or who you personally chose. Is that the case here or is one better than another? I've been lurking around for a while and rarely post, but I'm wanting the most power I can get for the mods I've done and plan on doing. Help a guy out!!!

If you just buy it from torrie with your basic info in an email you will get his preset tunes. For a custom tune you need to get in touch with him and a local dyno shop and do it right.

You are wrong bubba,If you get in touch tell him what you have he can Tweek it for you .
If you have just a few bolt ons such as cai and exhaust, a dyno tune is really not needed unless you have done major internal work.

Torrie at Unleashed is a great resource for SCT tunes that can get close for your mods and configuration.... "Can tunes" will be safe rich. Somewhere in the 11:1 range at WOT. Smart for the tuner so these engines do not melt a piston. Even the OEM will run em' rich up top.

Get yourself an AEM Wideband (JTSVP) and know where your engine is at. Also helps the tuner work with you on custom triming of your maps. I have the luxury of doing "on the road" real time pulls in 4th. gear to plot A/F, conditions and environment. 12.6:1 is where you want to be. I like a tad richer with an additional timing bump..;)

Or find your local, reputable dyno shop and have Torrie on the line for live map modifications.

    Cheers!

Awesome! You guys are a great help. It's nice to know I can ask a question and not get flamed for it like I did on any other forums, especially my SRT8 cherokee forum. Those guys were the worst for it! I see the jokes and stuff on here, but usually that's just what it is, not some goon trying to make another guy feel dumb. Thanks again guys for the quick replies!

I had shipping info in 20 mins of buying, without getting a chance to tell him anything about my truck. Those tune were preloaded for an 06 Qc. none of my bolts ons or elevation were put into any "tweek".

Don't worry about the battle here guys, I already purchased one and a couple other things off Tony from jtsvp! All I can say about that guy is he was a great guy to deal with, answered everything I needed or wanted to know. I won't be afraid to call him again for repeat business.

you know good and well nothing will be better than a dyno tune, or even better a street tune...

you still have to tell him your mods - bolt ons or not... there's some generic tunes that he can use, but that's because he can do it with his eyes closed...

i still told him my mods on my old truck and 15 minutes later it was out the door - i never did have it dyno tuned...

Not the best at using the search function:dontknow:
Anyway, I got what I needed and an underdrive pulley and a K&N as well. Spent about a half an hour on the phone with Tony. Talking about the parts and then just some bullshitting afterwards. What a friendly guy, I can see why he does well with his business and has great reviews from the guys on here. The only thing I'd complain about was getting a hold of him! The phone was ringing every couple of minutes while I was talking to him. But I can't fault him for that! Like I said before, I'd do repeat business with him and his company.
