DWI HELP

This is a bad thread and pretty close to going all to hell. I don't think anybody here is acting high and mighty, just some people have been on the other side of a drunk drivers actions. This is really a no win situation as people have differing opinions. I for one don't like putting personal laundry on the forums. Keep it about the trucks or don't get your panties in a twist when people give you shit about something you posted. I sure as hell wouldnt be posting up in a public forum if I had a legal issue. Just my two cents, brothers.

Dude, you posted on the forum about you getting a DWI/DUI. How could you not expect to get raked over the coals for your actions, nevermind your thread YOU started! Helping a friend or not, you still drank, and chose to drive. Regardless of the circumstances and situation, there's other options. And I'm pretty sure these guys are just trying to make an impact on you and give you a bit of insight, which is pretty much what you asked for. Go to any other forum about cars trucks or motorcycles, and I can bet you'd get the same reaction. Take your lashings and deal with your shit like a man, instead of acting like a little girl, for getting what you deserve!

I am no better than the next guy...I just wanted the guy to consider the fact that he has a problem with alcohol...maybe people who care about him are afraid to tell him the facts...most alcoholics never address the problem.

So right, I never addressed my alcohol problem till my wife said she would not come home if I had another drink. That was 30 some years ago and the blessing is God used her to make me what I am today.

The term "alcoholic" is used in place of sin. Sin is anything we do that is against God, His creation or ourselves. Using the word "alcoholic" is giving a person an excuse for not facing responsibility. They can't help it, right---wrong. My 40 yr. daughter 2 weeks ago got out of 90 days in jail for probation violation. DUI probation. She is an attorney, lost her job, her 3 beautiful kids, self respect and about everything else, cept her daddies love. She has come to terms that the word addiction is a cop out for sinful choices. I can only pray God has chanced her heart. My wife & I moved 80 from our home to be able to help take car of her 3 babies. Again, been there done that.

Sorry for the preaching but alcohol is a very touchy subject for a reformed drunk. I, first hand, have seen the devastation to the family that a little social drinking can cause. Blessing brothers.

Look you guys act like you have never had two or three then hit the road shit half.the.get togethers that our truck.community has involves bars and yall want to preach. I WASN'T drunk but .04 will say otherwise CDL rules suck. Go figure some Dick in Edmonton would run his mouth. Yes I started a Fucking internet thread looking to some on here that might have been in the same spot I'm more than man enough with my actions which is why I'm dealing with.the consequences but a lot of you people like assumptions and then spouting off about whatever comes outta there mouths. Look its not like I'm sitting hear hiding secrets that's why I was asking for help maybe someone knew a good.lawyer etc etc

Do you know the best lawyer in your state? That's why I created a thread. No sympathy. Never take a field test that is the states way of proving a case neve speak I'm not sure people on here understand how little you have to drink to be .08

We have an open container law in the great stare of TEXAS. You get stopped and they see a bottle, any kind of alcohol that has had the cap removed then you are in violation of the law. You will be arrested. If ya got a container of booze that has been opened and you want to take it someplace then put it in your trunk. Period. 17% of the folks you meet on the highway are impaired with alcohol or drugs. Beware.

No and its the same .08 legal limit. I remember as a kid though riding around with my parents as they drank on the way to the lake, a party, the car show, air show, airport, hell .. Pretty much everywhere we went. I'm glad times have changed though as I was lucky to survive a few near death experiences from family drinking. Probably a subconscious reason I don't drink. :dontknow: , well that and it all tastes like crap to my tongue. Haha
If it tastes like Dr.pepper I might be a drunk, lol.
In all seriousness, Matt, I hope they are easy on you for your first offense and that you never get a 2nd offense! And very right you are about almost any GTG involving drinking and driving 500+ HP truck afterwards with an itch to mash the gas. Same being said we've had many here in Texas where no alcohol was consumed. :burnout:

Or do they come on here and set you straight for all the dumb shit that you do? Car forums are not the place to ask for good lawyers, or DWI/DUI advice, as stated before. Maybe you could try your phone book or a quick google search to find what your looking for. Also, my opinion has been parallel to what others are telling you. And from reading your posts in this thread, I hope you meet Ironhead, and he stomps a new cavity in your face for you to talk out of. Maybe it'll teach you a little something you may not have learned growing up. RESPECT!
