The 5.0 was a 6 speed car with exhaust. Other mods unknown. It was a short pull from a light, but he had half a car length on me going into second. I didn't come out of the hole as hard as I could have, but honestly it didn't matter anyway. His car is just plain quicker than my truck.

You were spinning no? You should be able to take him although they are a close race. 302ci putting in work:burnout:

No spinning on my part. He didn't spin either. It's easier to hook living at 4500' elevation.

Yessir I've taken a few and gotten surprised by a SC one that buslengthed me.i usually can pull a truck on them to 120. They're beast by all means for a stock car. Really surprised y'all weren't Spinnin though regardless of elevation. Guarantee he was still surprised his "badass 5.0" had a pickup truck hangin with it. :burnout:

I'm pretty sure those 5.0's run 12.8 bone stock. Last fall there was a guy at the track with a Boss 302 with just bolt-ons and DR's and he ran an 11.88!!! He let me check his car out and he wasn't hiding anything.

Yessir I've seen 12.8-low 13s with those 5.0 at the track. They respond nicely to bolt ons, tune and especially FI

The new 5.0's are quick out of the box, not much you can do about it. but staying close to them in a big heavy truck always wins the cool factor!
 
I had a co-worker that had a Boss and he always talked shit saying he would smoke me, I knew the car could smoke me with a decent driver but I didn't think he could. When I showed up to work with my truck after I installed catless mids he wanted nothing to do with me. He thought I had done a lot of work.
 
This is the second 5.0 I've run. I walked away from the first. But, the one in this thread was certainly quicker than I was. On a track, I might outrun him for the first 330', if I caught him sleeping at the light. But he'd probably catch me by the 1/8th, and I wouldn't stand a chance through the 1/4.

I love my truck. It does everything I ask of it, including taking the kids to school, getting me home from the office, hauling lots of material for work and for home, epic burnouts on command, and putting up a fight against all comers racing. Having said all that, racing is about running what you brung. And in this case, I brought the slower vehicle... And I can't wait to line up against the next 5.0 I see. Lol
