Yeah this some sweet news if they pull through with it!! :) they have to do something now that the Hellcat is out with 707HP!! The Viper has to a min of 750hp
 
It would only take a few #s of boost to get 750 I would think they would go for 800+
 
Good news. That would not only be good for the Viper owners, but for the Mopar world. I don't know who is handling the Horse Power Wars for Mopar, but I like the direction they are going.

Based on the Frame design that we have with our trucks this would be impossible as for example in Germany i can only have a RAM SRT10 truck street legal with 700 Crank Horse Power as the strength of the Frame will officially not allow more.

Therefore a totally new concept of Frame would be needed to sell it elsewhere than the US and just made for US, i dont think the numbers of possible sales will move the Management to plan such a truck....

Nevertheless, i would be highly interested :)
 
Is the present viper available with the hell cats 8 speed auto as as a few of you are aware had a work accident and ended up as double below knee amputee so a manual is a tad difficult to drive also any idea on release date for the hellcat and approx price?

The current Viper is only available with a 6 speed manual transmission.

I agree, especially knowing that the Z06 that is coming out already beats the current viper in HP, nevermind what Chevy has planned for the ZR1... Guarantee it's in the 750-800HP range.

I believe it is the legend Mr. Ralph himself!

This made me sigh a sigh of relief because I was seriously worried about the Viper. I love the Viper, I would trade my truck for one in a second but with the Hellcat hitting showroom floors with more power and better stats I feared the Viper was going to go the way of our SRT-10s.

The last thing I would hate to see is Dodge turn into Ford and not have a marque car
 
Some interesting news on the hellcat, so they will need to ramp it up big time for the viper

Well, Motor Trend appears to be the first publication to put the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat on the rollers and not only did it prove those numbers – it blew them away.

The Hellcat Challenger put down 635 horsepower and 591lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels with the automatic transmission. The industry norm for calculating engine horsepower at the crankshaft based on drivetrain loss is 15% and if 635 horsepower is “only” 85% of the Hellcat Hemi’s actual power output – the engine is making closer to 747 horsepower. Using that same math for the torque output, 591lb-ft would be about 85% of 695…although considerably higher than the 650lb-ft of torque that Chrysler claims. If those power figures were official, the Challenger SRT Hellcat would pack more horsepower than the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and the Lamborghini Veneno and in terms of torque – no other production car in the world could rival 695lb-ft.

I am 100% with you, but dont like the status of "world wide fastest....,strongest...." etc., no matter which brands claims to own it.

The package itself of the Hellcat is from price/performance ratio sure the best choice of all offers out there:rock:
