05 QC 46500 miles on it.....RF wheel and rim smoking and so hot it was popping from the heat. Also smelled something burning....wheel bearing or brakes? Thnx alot...!
 
Sounds like your caliper locked up
 
Could be caliper or bearing. Both have tendencies to go out. Start by removing caliper and looking at pads/rotor for signs of heat. If all is good spin wheel if possible. Grab top and bottom of tire and see if it's loose.
 
Had my RF wheel bearing go out on me driving 55 down a dark tore up hwy while towing my crossfire. managed to pull off the road, next day when went to pick truck up from the tow yard, saw I was maybe 50 feet from going off the edge of the Ohio river. yikes.

Long story, lol. even if caliper, get the bearings checked. ;)

had a caliper sieze recently. Was weird having brakes on all the time.
I ha da wheel bearing go bad too. Started as a subtle vibration when grew into a constant wa wa wa wa wa wa wah wah wah wah wah wah wahwahhh wahhh wahhhh wahhhhhhh wahhhhhhhh wahhhhhhh

I have never seen a bearing make that much heat-especially with smoke n all-im going to go with caliper. Might as well get a rotor while you've got it apart-if its smokin, its bound to be warped
