Nuke do you know about this vid?

no i didn't, thanks, remember the vette but not what round it was. went a couple of weeks ago ?? they said they prepped the track but had so much wheel spin now after the mods, tire spin in 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 now. need to do some adjusting on the long bars and the JTSVP shifter (i've got it set way to stiff right now)

best of the night was around a 14 flat when i actually got the 2-3 shift, temp was hot and DA was up there, so everyone was running slower. tire pressure down to around 22 and idling off the line still smoking the tires every gear. good thing is i got him off the line:D

saw gustaffson (sp) out there for one run then he disappeared, so didn't actually get to shoot the breeze with him, nice looking truck though

Well I do know the Gecko will give you 6k if your wheels get stolen.

The main issue with our trucks is this, since they arent made anymore the parts dont really exist making them almost impossible to repair as they get older.

just be careful, they may have the total value at 16-18K through a regular insurer

hagerty will adjust premium based on agreed value, modified to them is significant changes i think but you would have to talk to them about it. kinda like car shows, sometimes an engine change isn't a modification if everything else is the same but if you have 6 different little things, then its modified. just putting it out there for those that haven't thought about it now that they are 10 yrs old or so.

i know when i had my charger insured, the regular insurance was 75 a month and a value of 5K without an appraisal (it was an everyday driver but not finished at the time) i agreed to 9K value with Hagerty when i stopped using as an everyday driver and premium was 150 YEAR

remember insurance price is not only dependent on your driving and state but also your actual neighborhood and credit rating (i say this part since i had a BK back in 09 so mine is slightly high right now). when i was asking them questions (yes, i forgot to ask what actually constitutes modification:bang head:) my area, my credit, my driving record, 05 RC 30K value (you have to replace it with the best you can find right??) was 800 a year. they don't actually give you a mileage limit but if its truly an extra non daily driver then the miles will automatically be lower

anyway, just putting it out there so those that have used classic insurance have options now

i think i hear me miss the 2-3 shift about 3/4 track. i just looked at the info on the video, "new vette TAKES DOWN ram srt10"?????

hmm, 700hp, 3500 lb vette against a 500hp, 5500 lb truck, yeah, it better take me down or go home embarrassed

My $.02, the people covered by regular insurance companies will really be upset if their truck is totaled, stolen, they will get the value of a 11 year old truck, maybe $3500 ??? These type vehicles have to have declared value or agreed upon value policies, Barrett-Jackson Insurance, American Modern, and Leland West are good antique and valued policies..at a decent price...most want a declared mileage per year ( can't use for to and from work) many are 1000 to 2500 miles per year etc...they will give you what you agree to the declared value of the vehicle, my truck has 2K miles on it, would I want to let it go for $3500 ?? !! No way....better check than be sorry !! If you want unique vehicles to own , you have to step up and insure accordingly.... !!

Well i think that the current kbb value is what the insurance company will pay. But I don't think that kbb keeps up with vehicles of this kind very well, which is why I'm looking for better coverage but on a modified vehicle. Even a regular 05 ram hemi has a kbb of closer to 6-8k than 3500 but I agree with you in general on the subject, that's why I posted Hagerty information.

I was being a little facitious when I put out $3500, but to my knowledge you can't get a value for this truck with the viper motor....Some people on this site have miles on their truck as well....miles lower the payment....I have shopped Haggerty over the years but they are very pricey for my stable...also agreed on policies are usually for a year, roll back wrecker service, towing, etc....glass coverage...low if any deductible payments, and I bet many people don't put over 2K miles per year ( wait I know someone will take me to task.....but)
