why on earth would you try out a new clutch when there's proven ones already out there?

He'll buy it and that complain to us about how terrible his life is because the clutch doesn't work.

So according to this poll, only 1 likey for the Centerforce clutch.

Never liked the stock engagement. Just feels loose and noisy. (got 38K no wonder)
With so many RC trucks out there what is the best stock setup ?
Spec2, 3, 3+, Luk

Maybe we need a new poll ? ..............

Centerforce

A few weeks ago I posted a question on how far does the centerforce diaphram have to go forward to completely be disengaged. Got a lot of hypothetical replies buy no answer. It appears that the viper/srt slave cylinders have too short a throw for the centerforce. If you shim it to get full disengagement you have a very good probability of slippage at higher rpm. If you shim it to specs with the proper clearance it will not fully disengage (BigRed460 I have the same problems). Its very close and some people may even get lucky and be able to get one that works. So far I've not. I have two brand new centerforce clutch kits several slave cylinders and shims. There's no air in the systems when I get them bleed and that comment when someone is having the problem may OR may not be whats happening. I'll not try another one.

I've had mine (along with the Roe clutch slave) and it works just fine. Granted, I'm only ~600hp, so maybe it wouldn't hold with more power... don't know, doesn't matter for me since I run street radial tires that can't handle the power anyway.

I've got about 13k miles on my CF clutch. I like it.

If not using the Oem slave with a mcloed inquire with them before choosing. I went with a mcloed dual disc and mcloed slave. Pedal is so hard, the clutch/brake plate flexes with the firewall when I push it.

It's not on a 10 but it may be common. I have the RXT.

Love it, would definitely buy again. No issues and I've had it for years, she grabs hAAAArd

So now I'm curious. I'm going to be installing jtsvp hydraulics and I ordered a centerforce from jegs which is on back order. Who has had a problem with this set-up? I see so many good reviews here and now I'm seeing that there are issues. I found a thread at pro-touring that states the tob has 1.5" travel. So what is the actual measurement for tob to pressure plate? It looks like our tob is meant to ride on the fingers of the pressure plate. I saw in another thread that .6" of preload is what's needed. I have no experience with the factory set-up. In my car I run a Howe billet tob and that required .2" of airgap. I was really liking the centerforce and can't really see how it's all that different from other clutches. Clutch Master Cylinder Specs for Viper CSC??? & Mcleod Clutch PP Travel?

I have the centerforce and Roe slave setup. No issues at all! I would buy another .

I have ran mccloud and centerforce. I have a centerforce in my procharged gts and it has 8k miles on it I believe
860rwhp.
Has help up great. But I think the heavier trucks are the issue. I burned up mcclouds on my truck, but a lot of that was driver error I'm sure lol
