I need to use a winch to drag my truck onto a trailer.... has anyone done this successfully with the front bumper still on the truck? I am assuming I am probably going to have to remove the bumper to do this, but thought I would put it out to the community first.

I removed the front bumper to do it, I had a steep angle ramp so there was no other way.

Im gonna have to make a hook that i can easily attach to the bumper through the lower openings of the bumper cover. Winter is here, hopefully i wont end up having to use it.

I was also planning on adding a tow hook, maybe on the front bumper, but only accessible when opening the hood. I don't want to look ricey, but just for function

EEEEXACTLY!... never gull full RICER mode. I'll keep you posted if i get to it. I might go to the shop (old work place and hour away) sometime soon and see if i can make something. They got a waterjet & breaker that i used to run when i worked there. Not to mention lots of scrap metal i can use for freee :D
