What exactly are you swapping? A Gen 3 Viper intake manifold for a Gen 3 Viper intake manifold?

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking....

I recently bought a intake manifold that was painted black and it is port n polished, and I'm swapping out with my original one, and while I'm at it Ima swap out my spark plugs wire, just seeing if there was any tips on what to look out for since this is my first time doing it

Pretty straight forward. Remove stuff. Install stuff.

The only thing that game me grief was getting the fuel injectors out of the manifold. Took a lot of gentle wiggling to get them out.

Go slow with bolting it back in.

While it was off I cleaned out the V of the engine. It was pretty dirty.

Take your time. I layed a towel on the front cross member and basically just layed on the engine to do everything as its pretty far in the engine bay.

The rear bolts on the manifold are tricky. I was able to use a small Torx socket with a long 1/4" drive extension to get to it. Chang plug wires one at a time and try to keep them routed the way the factory has them. Getting the plastic plug holders off the lower valve cover bolts can be a little bit of a headache too so take your time. The intake manifold has two plastic nipples that hold it in place to make reinstallation easier. Another trick I use is put a light layer of oil on the injector O-rings to help them seat during reinstallation.

Great thanks again!! Ima start early tomorrow Sunday and hopefully everything goes smooth!! Thanks for the help, again guys

Im not completely positive but if your intake is ported and polished and your heads are not i am not sure of why you would do it. I would think you would want the matched so the gasket and everything lines up right and of course more power

and if your fat and have a big belly (like me) a towel on each fender and a long 2x6 allows support (for your belly) while you lean across the motor and don't forget to remove the hood latch as it will cut you in two.. the exposed bolt heads on the fenders will stop the 2x6 from sliding off the fenders

Nothing a six pack and some good music can't help make easier. Especially if you have a gofer to keep you poisitioned the whole time. Wives make good helpers... Especially if they are easy on the eyes. Although that may be more of a work hazard and distraction at that point, but fuck it. :D

Yeah actually I remember leaning over the dang truck for like 3 hours and my back was killing me!

As Seethrough said.... There are tips and tricks to getting the rear manifold bolts in and out. I ended up shaving a stubby open ended wrench to get in there easier.

A little oil on the injector O rings does make a difference too. Make sure you do not lose the Injector rubber spacers. They are like the size of a big cheerio and they go into the manifold. They can pop put and would suck balls if you lost one of those. Be very careful removing the injectors.

Make sure nothing falls into the heads... obviously. I know I was surprised how huge the intake manifold really is. Its a long ass mofo.

Good Luck.

Please post a picture of "Mrs. Easy on the eyes". I want to make sure I do this right when the time comes.
