I wanted a bit more out of my QC.

A serious single-purpose racing engine wasn't in the plan this time. I wanted something with good low, mid and top end power that got decent gas mileage, and had cats so it didn't stink. Not too much to ask, Ha ha.

Changes:

Added 8 degrees of cam timing (234/236 on a 115)
Increased cr from 10 to 11:1
Headers
Same unported intake manifold.
Same unported Strikers.

600.3/598.2 Dynojet

600.3 divided by 505 cubic inch= 1.18 hp per cubic inch through the auto. Or 1.23 hp per cubic inch IF it was through a standard... But it isn't. :)
Past couple of tanks 19 Imperial miles per gallon.

So the engine seems to be efficient.

I'm happy with the results.

Averaging 23 miles/US gallon is very impressive. It is a very fast truck. :)

I need to learn how to speed shift.:p

Sean, told me this motors like cam timing and compression. Great numbers!

Yes, quite possibly even higher peak horsepower numbers available with more cam timing, but not enough usable torque for what I was after.

I think I will leave it right where it is.

Need some pics....... Or better yet, video of a street pass winding it out !!!! :burnout::burnout:

Yeah I want videos. Or just send me the heads and we call it even.

If anyone is interested in more details, please follow this link in the DYNO STUFF section.

Thanks

wow 600 whp aint no joke!

Nice build! That's what id like to do.

All motor. How much more compression can Viper engines take? Anyone ever build a 13:1 or 14:1? That would be cool.

I cant see why the engine couldn't use more compression in a race application.

Even zero-decking mine and increasing cam duration, I am pushing the limits with 94 octane (even at our high altitude) and have to be careful. 11:1 is somewhat of a cap in my current configuration.

A 6-speed and/or a lighter and lower vehicle (like a car) would have made it easier to be at 11:1 but it is livable (and fun) the way it is!!
