I was driving my truck and stopped for light. When I took off, I noticed a cloud of smoke behind me. I was following a Honda and thought it was from him. Then in looked at my Gage's and oil pressure was dropping . Pulled over and shut it down and had oil all over under truck. Towed home, looked at oil cooler lines and they look ok. Checked filter and it looks ok too. Where do I look next?

Those are the first two places I would have looked as well since they are the most common. The drain plug didn't fall out did it? I know that's obvious too, just kind of putting my thoughts into typed words.

I didn't look at the drain plug, but the oil was sprayed all over right side of lower engine and right wheel. Not like it just drained out.

Can you post some pictures of the area? That may help someone who has experienced this before point you in the right direction.

My next step is to change the oil( what's left) and have the wife fire it up while I'm under it. See where it coming from. I'm disabled & on oxygen so it's not so easy to get under it anymore.

Right side sounds very familiar to something that happened to me. I parked at a friends house and my truck was leaking big amounts of oil, it was sprayed all over under the right side of the truck all the way back to about the trans. Went down to check it out and noticed it was coming from my oil filter. I had just done my oil change the day before, turns out the gasket from the old oil filter stayed behind when I replaced it and was doubled up but not sitting flat so it left a big enough gap to let oil spray out. Since I never noticed it, as I was driving it was spilling and the wind would just blow the oil down the truck to make a huge mess. Glad I caught the problem on time. Clean up sucked, but I was happy to know it wasn't anything serious.

Thanks, that oil filter gasket had crossed my mind. Will do an oil change and check that.

Pretty much has to be lines to oil cooler, filter or senders. Something pressurized. Hope it's simple

Im betting its the oil filter. What kind of oil filter are you using? Some owners have had issues with none viper oil filters.

I would respectfully recommend switching out to a white viper filter.

Braided steel oil lines, been on three years.gonna get under it today & look it over again. Engine was running fine. No noises or misfires. Didn't see any holes, just oil everywhere

like what was mentioned, oil temp sensor or oil psi sensor, and check the cooler and fittings, a good simple green bath too
