Recently purchased 2004 RC from my son. I never paid them much attention in past. But the more I worked on it with my son and realized all the performance parts that come on it, I was impressed. After owning it for 2 years, my son got the hots for my brother's 66 Mustang and wanted to sell it. I couldn't let it get away, so I bought it. Well, my wife and I bought it (had to get her buy-in). Now she's all about taking the truck to cars and coffee events and just out to dinner! It's been in state of repair for a couple of months now, fixing mostly cosmetic things. It was a daily driver for my son and the previous owner in Dallas area. Its got 85,000 miles on it, so needed some TLC.
so far, I re-wrapped the steering wheel, replaced the shift knob, replaced faded headlights and broken driving light (son hit an animal on our country road), repainted front air dam and rear wing. Major fix was the standard trans jumping out of reverse. After reviewing the internet quite a bit I bought a manual on the T-56 and $50 in parts fixed it myself. Changed from heavy gear oil to synthetic ATF and it shifts better. Changed synthetic differential oil because I just wanted to!
Next is replace or powder coat valve covers, as they are flaking a little bit. I want to keep it stock, but dress up the engine bay.
